The East coast has been advised to evacuate for tsunami alert, and the evacuation had been ordered for a large part (if not all) of Fukushima area coast (like 200km south of Sendai). But no doubt everyone here must have felt it strongly, considering it was also felt in Tokyo.
Everyone, wherever you are in Japan, please stay safe and advise us that you're ok!

A 1M40 tsunami just hit Sendai port , hope everyone can stay away from sea area and move to higher ground

I hope everyone in the affected area are safe including Yuzu's family. He must be worried as well for his family and hometown safety.

Anyone knows whether Yuzu already in Sendai (or Japan)? Or will he fly into Tokyo and straight to Sapporo?

He should have already been there or at worst arrived tonight. There is only 1 non-stop flight per day from Toronto to tokyo and it would arrive only by 5 pm in Tokyo. I doubt he would only arrive by Wednesday because he would have arrived in Sapporo so late + Thursday practice starts pretty early.

SuzyQ lives near that area I think. Are you OK? praying for you.
-I'm not living near the coast and am further north so I didn't feel anything.

Also another fan (that offer to show Pamigena or anyone while in Sendai), I think Lady something. She is also from Sendai.

2 hours ago Sendai airport issue tsunami warning, passengers were evacuated. JAL and ANA flights from there may be cancelled/delayed.

I hope Yuzu is not in Sendai at this moment :(

So good to hear you're all right and safe Interspectator!
AP is saying the tsunami warning has now been lifted in some areas and downgraded in others so hopefully everyone's safe, including Yuzuru's family.

My guess is that i doubt he was in sendai. Leaving toronto, they were probably focused on nhk first and being in the competition mind set. Brian probably went with him, as well as tursinbaeva. Once it is over he has time to go home and train there until france. But, if he went to japan days ago, then maybe he was home first.

I think everyone was pretty lucky with this one... the type of this earthquake could have produced a big tsunami, but it did not. Good news.

I highly doubt he will be in Sendai. He probably would maximize his training time in Toronto then fly straight from there to tokyo then immediately to Sapporo together with Brian and other TCC skaters like Tursynbaeva and Alaine Chartrand. I would not even be surprised if other Canadian skaters like Tessa and Scott will be in the same flight as them since there is only 1 flight a day from Toronto to Tokyo. (Tessa and Scott trains in montreal but they still have to stopover to Toronto to reach Tokyo I think).
He would stay mostly in Japan after NHK until next year, so I doubt he will arrive early to visit Sendai and prefer to spend as much as he can training in CC.

Wishing everyone is safe and that there would be minimal damage on the affected area.

Hi, thank you very much for your concern!

I live in the area south of Fukushima, so I felt this morning's earthquake quite strongly.
It was a really strong shake and I prayed my house would be OK. It survived 3.11 without any problems,
but nowadays there are so many earthquakes happening that I feel very nervous suspecting my house is being damaged little by little,
and someday it will fall down by one strong earthquake:(
A good thing is it was OK this time;)

Anyway, I hope Yuzu isn't in Japan yet, or at least he is in Hokkaido.
This is not good to anyone who experienced that 311 earthquake.
I have noticed Noto-san tweeted "嫌な揺れが続く...(Bad feeling shake continues.)"
He seems to be in Sendai. I, too, feel the shake occasionally now.

Fortunately, it looks like tsunami hasn't done so much harm this time.
I'm so relieved!! I hope there will be no more earthquakes soon and
everybody affected will calm down.

Thank you everyone for your concern. I don't think there is any big damage so far. Tsunami warning has been eased already.

I woke up by the earthquake this morning, 30 minutes earlier than usual, and the trains were late to go to the office in Tokyo. I ran to the office from the station. These are all damages I suffered :p
