I bet Yuzuru won't be clean in LP. He might skate well but not clean. Honestly at this point it would be good if he can win silver cause I am afraid at the very best he can only get bronze. And I am not veru optimistic abouthe new method of approaching to make him feel more at ease like Javi. If they still keep that up, he might do even worse.Ok, maybe not a major meltdown is required but mistakes made? Yes. Nathan's SS still needs refinement but his consistency is being rewarded in his increased PCS. Based on tech content (BSV only) Nathan already has a 10 pt advantage, of course Yuzu will make up the difference there with his PCS and GOE but it's tight when you're looking at PCS/GOE pts to make up the difference. Yuzu will have to be foot perfect for gold. Not saying gold is impossible but it's looking tough. Yuzu's made amazing comebacks but the guy's only human and he's been looking a little brittle since 2016 Worlds. He's under an insane amount of pressure, but I have faith he will pull thru. And 4cc is probably the best place for him to learn to work through these issues
oh noooo, yuzu is second to last to skate in the FS but nathan is last...
Nathan does not need to make mistake for Yuzu to win, let's put it this way, as long as Yuzu skates well.
If both skate well, Nathan will win thanks to the gap in SP and higher BV. Yuzuru can get higher GOE but not enough. Nathan already got almost 44 PCS in SP. He will get around 90 PCS in LP. That's the benefit of being from USFA. I have been saying this from last month.Nathan does not need to make mistake for Yuzu to win, let's put it this way, as long as Yuzu skates well.
No offense, but you're rarely optimistic about anything. And I am not veru optimistic abouthe new method of approaching to make him feel more at ease like Javi. If they still keep that up, he might do even worse.
I think so, yesIs there a new rule like the top 3 from SP skate to last three?
He lost some levels at the Stsq and one spin... http://www.isuresults.com/results/season1617/fc2017/fc2017_Men_SP_Scores.pdf
Well I think he looked stiff too, like too cautious, but he did pretty well. We have to wait and see how he does the LP. Have the skating order been posted ?
I think stormblade means that "Yuzu will have to be foot perfect for gold". If he is doing great but not "foot perfect", mistakes need to be made on Nathan's part.
sugar coating doesn't do us any favors and doesn't change reality. Nathan's record is short but he's shown that his jumps are reliable. Yuzu will need to match that consistency if he wants to stay on topIs there a new method of approaching things, like javi? is this an actual, deliberate thing?
I think some just drew this conclusion based on comments made in that Javi documentary? With lesser BV, and a gap after SP, Yuzuru has to be foot perfect and even that I am not sure he can win if his rivals are foot perfect. He has no advantage in BV and this is crucial. This is not against Chinese fed, it's against a much stronger fed.Yes, that's exactly what I mean. It's the reverse of GPF this year. Yuzu is already behind in the short so he had pts to make up. It's just how the math works.sugar coating doesn't do us any favors and doesn't change reality. Sometimes I really feel bad that I ask too much from him , wait and see what happens on Sunday, if he wins that would be awesome, if not it will be another lesson which he will take at home to work before helsinki , he has to peak for wc yet.. sorry for such a long post but sometimes I really feel sad for this guy .

I saw that Marin cited Patrick vs Boyang. But let's not forget it was Skate Canada vs Chinese fed. Nathan might have the same or even worse program structure than Boyang but he will always get around 4-5 points higher in PCS than Boyang.
I don't think Nathan will mess. Even if Yuzuru skates clean, If Nathan skate clean, Yuzuru might still only get silver. Unless Yuzuru will skate clean with 4lz which I don't think he has enough time to pull that jump in.
Frankly, I am afraid Yuzuru might have to fight for bronze. Cause Patrick can do quite good LP and score huge.
Before someone sends me into a state of panic can we please do the math? My head is killing me so I don't remember a thing and I'm not counting from the start
Numbers don't lie so can someone who is coherent enough right now just write up Nathan's and Shoma's BV and Yuzuru's BV?
Currently we're at Nathan vs Shoma vs Yuzuru
103.12 vs 100.28 and 97.04
Nathan's PCS should go to 90 for sure (if not higher to 91). Shoma scores what, 93? And for Yuzuru, he had 96 with the iffy GPF skate.

And he will not make 2018 since he is about to lose here. I get your logic, the game is over, so is this conversation.
