He needs to skate well at NHK to lay down mark before GPF, because his rivals scores will be cooked trough roof before that
I doubt that he can fully execute his difficult layout at NHK and GPF this time. It's much more demanding than 3 quad layout.

And I think he can. It's not about overall layout difficulty, it's about nailing quad loop. Other than quad loop other stuff in my opinion is going for him a lot easier than last year 3 quad program. He can do this program cleanly in practice. Now he needs to transfer this with quad loop in competition

And Im here panicking about his 4S-3T...

I'm not. There is no REAL diffrence between 4S-3T and 4S. It's all the same. Take off is the same and landing is the same. The only diffrence is timing on 4S in 2nd half, and that was his error at Skate Canada.

If he skates clean anywhere, the judges won't hold the score against him, it doesn't have to be in NHK. He is the world record holder + olympic champion after all.
He doesn't have to skate clean so early. Nailing 3 out of 4 quads would give him a high enough score. More than his free, I wish for a clean short

No. Do you want him to peak too early? He should make mistakes, a pop here, a pop there, a hand down..... all the way until worlds
I don't think the COR scores are relevant and the fact that Yuzuru is skating at home, his scores are going to be " cooked trough roof" as well, no matter how he skates ;)

I

Yea, and when worlds will come and he will skate clean his quads , 3A and others jumps will be getting +1 at best

After a long weekend at Skate Canada, I've finished uploading all my fancam videos. Here's a master list of my recordings from Skate Canada last weekend, sadly I missed Yuzuru doing the Sailor Moon pose!

So nice of you to share these. Assuming these were all shot handheld (as I see some occasional wobbles) I'm really amazed by how stable you held your video camera while shooting these. Panning was smooth, and when the video was stationary, it really was stationary. Just excellent.

He was not underscored at last year's worlds and it was held at USA. I don't know why some would freak out over how he was scored at Skate Canada when the exact same thing happened last year. It will not carry on to other events. He still has the highest BV of all men (except Boyang and Nathan) and he is the Yuzuru Hanyu, They will give him another world record score if he skates clean.
Most skaters would have 2-3 great skate per season. It's just how things are, and if he wants to have a great skate, I prefer it not to be at a GP event.

Yuzuru has to skate relatively well the whole season to get as good GOE and PCS as his WR. This sport is about reputation and consistency as well. He might not skate clean the whole season, but he has to skate well whole season.

I agree with this. He's not the only kid on the block any longer. Look at all the other people, look at yesterday. Reputation in this sport matters a lot but so does consistency and those two are intertwined. IMO this doesn't mean a clean FS at NHK is absolutely necessary (one popped quad won't mess him up or a 3Lz plus clean-ish jumps don't mean he's perfected the program; there're things to tinker with there regardless of jumps) but a clean SP is.

How nice of our boy :luv17:
And thanks to you TAT!

Right now I was watching CoR 2016 live on some russian sports channel, and Tatiana Tarasova was one of commentators. She said, that yestetday some person from Japan Skating Federation came to her and gave her a present, saying, it was from Hanyu. The thing is, that one day before this 2016-2017 season started, Tarasova found a nice peace of music. She thought it would fit pefectly for Yuzuru’s exhibition program and just sent it to him. Hanyu actually liked it and decided to use it. So as a thank you he sent Tarasova his own photo, skating this very program with some cute sign on it and also a letter on two pages.

It would be funny to see her as his coach. Just imagine k&c Tarasova sitting next to him holding pooh
Tat does not coach anymore so just choreography might be enough. But I think Tat also does not choreograph anymore. Maybe if Yuzuru asked her... :luv17:

I bet Tarasova would not complaining and complaining and complaining about Yuzu's quad strategy but would strongly support him

I really would love to see a collaboration between those two, I feel like they could do wonders together. Another one I would really like Yuzuru to work with is Tom Dickson, I really like him a lot. But I also think Yuzuru is in excellent hands with both Jeffrey and Shae so I won't complain much. And David Wilson regains all of my love with his very beautiful exhibition program.

She doesn't, either one. And I don't think Yuzuru would ask her, which basically leaves us with her asking him. Overall, chances 0.1%
