Oh, is there a limit on cleanly done skates? :)

Looking at his content, 2-3 clean skate is already maximum. It is even hard for ladies to have 3 clean skates. Even the most consistent ladies, Medvedeva, was clean only at GPF and worlds last year, she fell on all her other intl competition like CS, GPs and Euros. It is just reaching to think that someone who will do 6 quads would have many clean skates.

Happy Birthday Yuzuru !! :hb: May this 22nd year be full of success, and health :)
Can't believe I will see him live within 2 days !! The GPF came so fast! I'll be cheering loudly from the stands :hap93:

Happy birthday Yuzu :hap10:

Wishing you good health, happiness and success in everything you do.

So far there's 584 (and counting) birthday wishes, you can view them at this link. It will take me a few days to turn them into presentation.

Thanks for doing this ^_^ all the comments are so sweet!

Clean jumps do not mean he's necessarily peaking. All that would mean would be that he's in so-called athletic shape, which provides for high-level performance. You can peak more than once per season, and there are ways to extend the top level of athletic shape, where peaking comes from. The whole science makes my head hurt. Yuzuru doesn't seem fussed about it per that interview, so I'll take his cue.

Not Yuzuru :confused2:

I think his programs can be skated clean max twice, i would like to see it at 4CC and Worlds

Thank you alia for providing us with a way to wish Yuzu a happy birthday :)

I'll be in Marseille on Saturday to see the free programmes and was wondering who else was coming? I know the French members from this thread (Plumededragon, Lysambre, Pika Alva?) will certainly be there. So if it is the case, how about meeting somewhere? :)

Perfect timing! It seems that my copy of Aoi Honoo II finally arrived to my city and it's scheduled to be delivered by the end of the day! :luv17: It feels so right to receive it on the day of his birthday♥

I won't be there :(.

I'm still in Italy for a long ago planned trip, only going back to France tomorrow; and well, finances are what they are, and I can't really afford going to GPF straight after coming back from another trip.

Such is life, that you often have to chose between two things you love.

I hope you guys manage to meet and have a great time together, I can only wish I was there with you all :luv17:

That's simply not true. Any athlete can have more than one peak, two to three actually. Plus I'll take Yuzuru's words here, that he should be able to win even when not peaking and I agree. As long as he's in good shape, he should be able to, considering his content and the way he seems to be executing his jumps these days.

skating clean >>>> winning, for Yuzu

Indeed, I'll be there. :) I arrive in Marseille tomorrow, so surely we can arrange something at some point. :)

Honestly, he seems to be in very good physical shape right now and his problem jumps are all mental according to him, so he only needs to get his confidence up there to match. I think getting over 300 with both skates not being clean at NHK helped with that and also gives him extra motivation to do better. France should also have a good atmosphere like in Barcelona (the French have always been a good supportive audience for concerts and other events I've heard of), so fingers crossed for no distractions!

If the ambiance is like it was in JGP St Gervais (aka very warm, loud and supportative of all skaters), it should be fine. I hope it will not happen at all to Yuzu, but even when skaters were bombing, people were encouraging, clapping and screaming "ALLEZ!" ("GO!" in French). Both Spanish and French people are usually very warm at sport events, and not the quietest people too. ;)

During nice worlds everyone was so warm to him. :) I would expect there will be a number of fans from Europe travelling to Marseille to see him too. Have fun there and cheer for our boy! :hap10: :cheer:

Wow have fun! Are you coming to the OP too or only the competition? Is it open to public? If it is open, fans can sing him happy birthday when the OP is over and they are exiting the rink hahaha
