That's why that name is familiar! And luckily I don't have to, we are not the only thirsty people it seems. Someone asked if he did 2 4Lo and she said she doesn't know those details. I am not sure if it is better or worse as my imagination can fly now. I think I'll try and settle for the most benign option of, he was just testing his stamina. Yes :roll9:

Seriously, give us a clean H&L as it is, especially how much the 4S combo has been bothering him and us. That's enough.

Oh lol I see  I am leaning into thinking he did 3 4S (or 2 4Lo and 2 4S at best and not include the 4Lz), because if he did 4Lz I am sure that that detail will not be left out hahaha. For now I also just want a clean HnL with this current layout. I am dying to have that program clean (for personal reasons). Maybe he will do all the shenanigans on the off-season who knows. and yes we've been super frustrated at that 4s3t so a clean one will be all i ask for now

Ah, this is great, thank you so, so much! :thank:

ETA The 5 quad run through is new, now, prior to 4CC

No problem  if anyone finds any untranslated broadcasts in Swedish (or I can even try Norwegian) please tell me and I'll translate :agree: I'm going to do the other two videos later

So great with the 5-quad run-through, I mean wow! And 4S at the END? I can almost not believe it :noshake: Just very happy honestly to hear that he seems to have recovered completely from the flu ;)

Haha hello  yeah of course, feel free to use my translation(s) - wait a little bit though. Do you have access to the video and can just put the sub in (which would be great)? If so I would just like to go though it again - so it is 100% correct :agree:

Here is video...from GPF. He threw in a 4S at the end, probably to just make up for the popped one earlier., not to change layout but technically he attempted 5 quads here during this run though at GPF.

He is very well aware of zayak rule so him theowing it in at the end is just him practising.

Hi there :) Actually he has been doing it since NHK trophy last year. There is a news clip where during runthrough (for NHK) he also did 4S as his last jump. He usually did that when he missed his 4S combo (maybe to make up for it just to show that he can land that jump at second half, I don't know). He did 2Slo4S combo too during NHK practice. I am guessing he is just playing around. But glad to know that he can land all 5 cleanly at practice in TCC, it means stamina is likely not an issue for him.

Wow, I didn't expect my random idea would get a new poster  Welcome! I don't have the data myself but I've seen some users on GS have data collected from scoring per judge so this might be interesting to run it through some regression analyses? I saw skatedb doesn't break down by judge AFAIK or that could be a resource.
Unfortunately if I ever get around to this might take a looong time, sigh.

Hello! If it's regression analysis, what's the dependent and independent variable? I was thinking that one of the x is the country where the judge comes from, and the y is the PCS (because TES can't be used, since every skater has different technical aspects to score).

Well, if you're interested in Yuzu's competitions only, it wouldn't take much. Protocols from previous seasons won't have the judges' names revealed, they will stay anonymous, so it would only be a matter of SC, NHK and GPF. You can find them in the results' sites (the one I linked is only for NHK, for example), and you will find the judges' names and their corresponding number in the protocols in the "panel of judges" column :)

I don't have a lot of time on my hands right now (or good internet connection) so I was only able to run a test on SP Men NHK result, based on how the judges scored the PCS of all of the men skaters alone. (When I have the time I'll do further analysis with TES but the data mining is... time consuming :( )
And this is what I found:

1. On average, all the judges are consistent with their scoring. This means if a judge is stingy with the score, they will be stingy to ALL skaters. If a judge is generous, they will be generous to all skaters.

2. A single judge, however, will not be consistent. For example, if the panel only comprises of a Japanese judge, their consistency will be highly questionable.

3. It's very interesting how removing the Canadian judge from the data increases the average consistency and the single judge consistency (I use ICC, if anybody is interested). This might indicate that the Canadian judge is inconsistent with some of their judgement. I would not say that their inconsistency is significant, however. (Removing the US judge also increases the average consistency, but with less impact than the Canadian judge).

4. The absolute agreement among the judges is... medium. For example, Nathan's true score for his transition--if he's judged by god or whatever--is 9. It's not easy to get this score in real life, or in other words, it's not easy to get the judges to *agree* to give nathan 9. The US will give him a 10, or the Russian will give him an 8. This variability is caused by systematical error--in this case, usually it's bias.
So yeah, I would say the judges are kinda biased. Not all the time, but enough in NHK.

5. ...Removing the Canadian judge... will improve the absolute agreement score.... Hahaha. Disclaimer: I have nothing against the Canadian judge. It's not like the increase in score is significant, but it's there anyways. (Removing the Japanese judge, in fact, will decrease the consistency in point 1 above. It's not significant either.)

So there you go. As long as you have the xls ready I can do any sort of test, really. Pdf is hard because it takes time to convert it to editable xls ;___;

Edit: if anybody is interested with the xls file, here it is https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1CrwcK9CJcgcVhKb0YxbUJ5Z1k

Since the ticket sales for Pyeongchang 2018 are starting in February and the tickets are pretty expensive, what mens singles shows would you guys recommend I buy? From your personal experience, is seeing the sp in person better than seeing the fs or is the other way around?

Are you Korean? Because I see the USA flag there and if so, only Koreans can buy in February. The rest of us in October.

Idk about other places but you can make an expression of interest on CoSport's website. Also, those who want to get tickets earlier than October can buy it from people reselling theirs

if that's the case, I would go to S. Korea now to buy tickets ...but sadly :( I think I will have to see the olympics thru my live broadcast...

Oh yes, you can get them from the resellers for sure, but officially it's just Korean residents so far. I have no idea how CoSport gets them that early, though probably in a similar way. Good luck! :agree2:

CoSport is the official ticket seller/reseller for the Olympics in the US. If I remember correctly, they sold the tickets for Rio 2016. But they do have a bad reputation (not exactly sure why but I never used their services)

I guess this is just something to keep in mind. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that my Korean friend can pull through.

As for programs. The mens even is exciting enough that both short and long should be good, but I think short would be more mistake free than long, especially if 2014 is anything to go by.

Well this time it starts early in the morning, even though it's still back-to-back... so hopefully there's some rest in between? fingers crossed
