Most definitely. Even more than their own skaters...

I'm distracting myself with work and study because I can't handle the men's competition tbh and I'm going to be in dire need of some xanax. Maybe it should be included in the welcome package when people come into this fandom :dbana:

Yeah, I agree. If I'd known what was in store for me, I'd have thought twice... too late to change my mind now!

I try to add my modest Italian contribution in spreading the love (for Yuzu and FS in general)...however, I'll tell you, it's hard when your country happens to like nothing else than people running after a ball!

I hear you! For what it's worth, all my german non-FS fans who I forced... eh, asked to watch FS with me like Yuzu. He's constantly one of the only ones everybody likes
They might also be afraid of me, but...

Yes, but the level of overhyping in Korea makes me feel a bit conflicted hahaha
Also China yes but Russia is a bit surprising for me still. Not the fans, but the skating community? TAT and Grishin were not very complimentary to Yuzu at the beginning. EVen Mishin and Morozov said something a bit unpleasant about him too recently. I think Eteri is actually the one who was complimentary about Yuzu since his earlier days (which maybe why it is rubbing off on her students lol). I remember an interview where she called him beautiful and just gushed over him lol. She even defended him when the interviewer said he is inconsistent/had bad stamina or something

Mishin has said really nice stuff about Yuzu too though, hasn't he? And Morozov, well... unhealthy salt levels is all.
For the others, I'd just like to think that they can recognize real beauty when it's in front of them :luv17:

And your country is organizing the 2018 Worlds exactly why?

just FYI he pop his 3a1lo3s into 3a1lo2s happened 3 times in last year. nhk, gpf and worlds, it's like a pattern now. Look i'm not depreciate his 3a, and i'm not trying to compare it with other people's 3a or how badly they meltdown. all i'm trying to say is it is not some points he could make sure he will get no matter what anymore. when he has problem with his 3a, it always comes with other problem, like popping 3lz into single, so it's like 10 points total. with the fact that he does not have that huge technical margin to the rest of the field, it could be crucial if it happened again.

But it's not because his 3A is problematic. Those 3 instances that you mentioned, he just fell on planned 4S3T, lost his rhythm and falling took a lot of stamina thus he messed up his jumps following that. So I don't see why you are thinking that it is his 3A that is the problem when he landed them all this season. If there is a jump that is problematic it is the 4S3T. Yuzuru does around 6 competition each season, which means he does 18 3As in competition in total.Honestly, if he fell once or twice all season long, I would not cry too much over it. It is still the kind of consistency that other skaters could dream of having. If he makes mistakes on more than 1 jump, it is not because his 3A is unstable. It just means that he just meltdown, honestly.

I can bet how much you want that if you go down the street of Milan and ask people if they know about Worlds no one will answer yes! Really, you should be lucky enough to find a FS fan (and we are quite rare). On the other hand, if you go on the street of Milan and ask them the results of last week football matches, you'll get much more feedback. As for the Worlds, I don't even know but I hope they don't mess up too much with organization.

But that's not a pattern at all, especially not a pattern somehow related to a 3A problem.

Boston is a skate that shouldn't be taken as an example of anything, I think it's pretty clear why.
NHK combination - there is nothing wrong with the 3A, he lost stamina and popped the Sal
The GPF combination - this is the only one where he had trouble

I mean, you're welcome of course to draw your own conclusions, but I don't see a problem with the 3A. With the 4S-3T fall, which is a very big deal, it doesn't just disrupt the momentum of the skate, it takes away a lot of energy, he then changes his lay out and does a 3A-3T for the points, and then once, he has a small problem with the 3A, and still tacks on a 2T (and manages a downgraded 1Lo ). What he needs to make those 3A combos easier, are clean quads that precede them and that is not easy at all.

That's just the risk of a multiple-quad program. They take a lot of stamina, they're risky, the 3As come after that and with his high technical difficulty for the rest, including how he gets to the 3A combos, I think he's more than stable with an incredibly difficult jump that gives problems to people when they're doing it solo with no particular entrance to it :confused2:

We can and do I think, worry about the 4S-3T because that's what starts the chain reaction.

Well in Spain, our commentators love him, you know aunts Paloma and Susana... and they don't always say nice comments about all the skaters. I remember that Paloma didn't like Florent Amodio at all and she always pointed out some defects of him  And about Yuzu well, they praise him a lot, so I can't complain:luv17:
About the competition, I'm pretty chill right now, but probably I'll freak out by the time of SP. I think I'll skip all the competition and I'll watch Yuzu, my heart can't handle more.:hopelessness:

you just got my point totally wrong. jesus christ people in this thread are so intense, i love him as much as you do ok. if you think making a same mistakes three time is not a pattern because the reason is different i'm fine with that. the only reason i'm bother to say all above is remember how he won worlds 2014? he lost his momentum in the middle of 3lz1lo3s (it was lz but still -1lo3s, yes, it's not a pattern because it was lz back then) and still manage to pull out that 3s. remember how close the score was? if he pop his 3s like he's doing now he won't win there.

:console::ghug:

But I don't think Yatagarasu was undermining your support for Yuzu at all, so I'm not sure where that came from. :scratch2:

If your point is that those pops are costly, and at a pinch, could cost him podium space, I think we're all on the same page. That's just math. I assume most here would agree that scores can be close (or not close) and can lead to a loss as long as he underperforms. But given that his -3s troubles are more a symptom of other problems rather than inconsistent jump technique itself, doesn't it follow naturally that the solution would be somewhere else (such as upping stamina, or like he said more recently, "raising lowest average minimum" by ensuring he lands something even if it's not the cleanest or prettiest, etc?)

I hope I'm not unintentionally conveying intensity because my eyes are barely open/ and I'm barely functional at work right now  but you and everyone else in this thread is helping to keep me up.

Xanax or vodka before the SP sounds really good right now. I don't have anything to add, just wanted to say I appreciate all the support and love for Yuzu and fans here, we can get through this together :ghug:

As gladiolusc said, I'm really not trying and I don't believe I have said that you don't care about him or anything negative. I just don't agree with you.

Where we don't agree is what we think is the problem. I look at those things and I think the problem are quads. Both the still wonky 4Lo that he had to save and then the big problem, the 4S-3T where he does keep falling. When that happens, it not only costs him stamina, it disrupts the program and then, it causes problems down the line, which is where the second 3A combo comes in, a very demanding one. In general he has had stamina problems, which I believe this year are being and are corrected.

So in essence, you think the problem is the 3A. I think the problem is the 4S-3T plus the big picture of the multiple quad program with everything else packed in, that is as such highly demanding.

Yes, the scores are close, I absolutely agree, and yes it's important for him to try and be clean. I think literally everyone here agrees. I just think that'll happen once he nails his quads, especially the 4S-3T. It's no big deal if we don't agree on what's the problem. We all worry about him.

We all should stay positive and bring Yuzuru good luck in the short program! :hap10: :ghug: Of course everyone is getting excited and nervous but everything seemed to go very well in the last 1,5 months, Yuzuru looks very happy and giggly since his arrival in Gangneung. That's just everything I could have wished so far. He will do his very best tomorrow (today in NA's timezone) so I don't worry now at all! (at least not now ask me 30 minutes before the warm-up ).

I was searching for a Count von Count picture and found this when I realised he is purple and holding Yuzu's number, #2. It will bring him luck too, I know! ;)

Yesterday, after arrived Yuzu said he didn't know the different of Korea and Japan, its mean Yuzu will skate clean there like it was in NHK, his very own hometown. East Asia is basicaly Yuzu territory afterall, so I'm not so worry

and he looked so chill in the past few day to the point that its look scary, like it was calm before the strom. I've good feeling that Yuzu ready to drop the 'BOMB. Who know whats the cute face even thought in the inside

My gosh. The "cute face" thought that he was very happy to skate and jump there, confident in his abilities. That's everything to it. And I'm very happy that once in a while he can be happy and calm like this. This guy tends to overthink everything any time, accidentally overtrain or be moody thanks to anxiety so we're very lucky to see him chill. It's not scary and it's not some thrilling facade. That's just him :)
I for one would like to see him once again enjoy performing with full heart like he did at GPF14. I totally see it coming.
Fortunately, other Japanese guys seem to be chill as well. It means they enjoy the competition and feel comfortable here.

Instead of discussing pops and analyzing mistakes, I think we all need to think positively and cheer on our boy. He's ready for this and what will be will be. Go Yuzu! :hap10:
