I've looked at the protocols and... judges still like Yuzuru. He got over 10 pts in GOE alone, he even got the positive GOE for the popped combo. Nathan and Shoma got just under 6.5 GOE. If he has a quality skate in the LP, the GOE gap between him and others will be even bigger, which should help if he is to overcome Nathan and Shoma.:)

It's "funny" to see some people (not all, thank goodness) acting like this SP was like the end of the world. Of course, we're disappointed for him. But it's not like Yuzu has zero chance to go back up, because he can definitely do it. For a lesser skater, 6-point gap would be next to impossible to catch back. But Yuzu is one of those skaters who can definitely win over. Of course, the fact that he has yet to do a clean FP is there, but he can do it. I believe in him and I wish the ones who are angry for whatever reason would too. Don't be mad because things went wrong or because skating 2nd didn't work well (I don't believe what happened was related to this, anyway, and we all learned the extend of his injury before LP in Boston) but show him support and love.
If all fans were to feel depressed/angry each time something went bad for their favorite, I fear for Chan's fans sanity.

Maybe we should scold both 4Lo and 4S and tell them to be more like the older child, 4T and 3A, who could still coexist peacefully with the new kids on the block :roll5:
4S can play well with both 4T and 3A and so does 4Lo. I am sad that 4Lo and 4S did not yet get along until now :sad21:
or else their dad would not let them play with each other again and he would make 4Lo play with 4T :dev2:

The middle child always gets the short end of the stick, poor 4S  but it just needs to be patient because a new baby is on the way and then it can be best friends with 4Lo. In fact, they should start being friends now, and prepare for it. There, we've found the solution. The 4T should point this out to them though it may be just too tired by now to bother with the younger siblings.

Really, the 3A should put its foot down and clean house, by delivering a spanking or two.

Good point here. He got 10.56 in GOE, the highest I think, and the only protocol in this event which has all positive GOE. The quality of skating tells itself.

. Personally I think it's time to conquer the thought that's he's an SP skater. That, I would appreciate more. He cannot rely on his short all the time to pull him through because the gap is closing. So he'd have learned something if he gave us a great free at least (winning or not in the end).
He just needs to get that to click in his head. And honestly, if he thinks he needs to YOLO something then do it! I don't even care if that causes him to lose, it's the fighting spirit that will matter tomorrow and going for it.
He should be his focused, intense self and fight for it! He can, we know he can.

That Yuzuru is also the world record holder in the LP should help in conquering of the thought that he is an SP skater. We have also seen on past occasions (2012, 2013, and 2014 Worlds) that he can rebound in the LP.

And I also think as part of the growth process leading to the Olympics he should stick with his planned layout. Yes that second half quad salchow-triple toe combination is problematic right now, but he probably feels he needs it to win his second Olympic gold medal a year from now. So he should go for it.

Trust that on Sunday we will see Yuzuru in fighting mode, the Yuzuru that made me fall in love with him and his skating.

Yes, that's my point but what I am trying to say is maybe it is not a question of having to learn. Maybe he can't. Maybe this one thing is simply bigger than him. It happens. I really think he knows. I think his new 'face' is a way of trying to cope with pressures, including skating order. I am not sure that this is smart, I think he is an intense person but if he's trying, I can't fault him even if it didn't work.

I agree he can't get the order he wants every time and he often doesn't. But maybe this is it, we may have found something Yuzuru can't do. And maybe pushing through the barrier that is the free skate will help balance this.

I agree that there are some things can't be learned or will will be difficult to learn and take a much longer time. To me it's like Mirai and her stoic face during her programs. She is aware of her issue and has openly talked about it being something she has to work on, but it is easier said than done. If strengthening competitive mentality was that easy all the men would be landing quads consistently at every competition.
I think people over estimate his competitive abilities. The back to back Semei skates last year were a deviation. He has always been an "okay" competitor (for the lack of a better word). He doesn't have nerves of steel, and he's talked about how pressure affects him. But he also doesn't and rarely ever completely implodes. He's for the most part has always been on the podium. Don't give up on him yet. He's human and puts on pants one leg at a time like all of us

Yuzuru was waving and bowing to fans waiting outside the venue when he left. He appears to be taking this a lot better than some of his fans :)

I don't think the issue is if he will win this or not. It's not the SP. Even if he skates clean LP on Sunday and wins with a new WR, he still hasn't overcome the lesson about skating 2nd. That makes me disappointed. He is too good to let himself affected by skating order.

Hey, it's not as if he just gave up the performance. It might have been a bit subdued, but it was still bloody good. People do make mistakes now and again.

I really wish to see a clean (and hopefully almost perfect) FS because I adore Hope & Legacy sooo much that I think it has a chance being my next favourite Yuzu's skate.

Have high hopes but low expectation. To be very honest, I don't know what to expect from the FS yet because I am such a worryer :palmf: I trust that he will give a quality skate for sure but... :palmf:

Okay I'm getting anxious as I type. now I am starting to think that I shouldn't watch him live because it seems like I give a jinx to whoever I am hardcore rooting for every freakin time. Plus my poor heart cannot handle it and I'm running out of vodka at this point (like literally )

wait wait wait, hold it right there..... are you saying that he's not perfect? because I think that kind of sacrilege demands a penalty of some sort

Hmmm, right, I'm awaiting my sentence then!
Ever since Yuzu wrote that note to TAT before the GPF gala, I realised I no longer care whether he's going to win. I'll love him forever. :) Even if all Eurosport commentators fall out with him.

Me, speaking to 4S : Honey, do you remember that time when it took you 2 years to get along well with 4T and 3A? Do you remember how happy your dad felt when all of you finally get along thus he brought you out more often to play with 4T and 3A like in the SP? Please be a darling and don't give 4Lo a hard time. If you all get along, your dad will be a really happy man. So be nice to 4Lo, ok. 4Lo still needs getting used to adapting and is still awkward for now. But once 4Lo are used to everything, this place will be a happy place

And then when everyone finally manages to get along for once... 4Lz enters the scene.

All hell breaks lose again.

It might have to be time for another newcomer then... 4Lz.

so if all 3 quads and 3A get along well, will dear daddy bring all of them to playground or in other words to SP??
