I wish I could drink a bit now, but the stuff is just poison for me for now. So is chocolate. :(
Can one get drunk on tea?

If you drink too much black tea, maybe yes.
I have just prepared a black tea, and mix it up with fig schnaps, my favourite combo in the winter.
Then later in the evening I'll have a glass of wine (which is older than I am, made in the the 80s, still in the communism).
It's been a tough week, and as everyone here, I've been waiting for this day since December. I was a wrack a couple of hours ago but feeling much better now.

The 6-points gap is not too much and judges gave Yuzuru a relatively good score. It's a big learning experience for him, as he's been a SP skater for a while now but he has to handle this 'new' situation. I think he will be fired up more in the FS without less pressure. Of course there is pressure for him (a lot), but he shares it now with Nathan and Shoma, which is a good thing. And as we know, he is an incredible fighter, so I don't have any doubt that he will do his very best on Sunday. That is what counts to me now. If it will be silver or bronze, let it be then.

Cheers *insert coffee with alcohol* :coffee:

Hey, it's not as if he just gave up the performance. It might have been a bit subdued, but it was still bloody good. People do make mistakes now and again.
You know I love him much that's why I am so mad. He was messing up the warm up honestly. Certainly he was not feeling well when he drew the 2nd as his skating order. I just don't get why he still let it affect him. I mean... there is a reason why he get that skating order so often these years. He has to learn. I am not surprised that by Olympic he will draw 2nd again. If he doesn't get used to it, then how can he overcome it at Olympic? You know I don't even care if he wins this competition or WC. I hope he learns the lesson about the skate order. Only by that way, he will grow up.

And then when everyone finally manages to get along for once... 4Lz enters the scene.

All hell breaks lose again.

It might have to be time for another newcomer then... 4Lz.

Me, talking to Yuzuru : Mate, are you sure you can raise and support all of this children and love them equally? Can you afford having another one when just adding 4Lo to the family has given you so much trouble regardless of the time and energy you spend? I know you like these children and are thinking of having another one, but are you sure you don't want to wait until you are sure you are completely ready? What if 4S is mad again? What if it is not just 4S that is mad but 4Lo too? How? How? :drama:

:rofl2:

so if all 3 quads and 3A get along well, will dear daddy bring all of them to playground or in other words to SP??

Shhhhhhhh, daddy can only bring 4 of his children at the SP, and he has to bring 3A the oldest child.

Right, I'm doomed to stay sober tonight. And rational, as some have pointed out! :)
What's the history of Yuzu's losing the SP and winning it back on LP? Is it that poor?

He'll just point his finger at Nathan and Shoma and Boyang and say they're doing no less for their kids. So he must try harder. :)

Yuzuru Hanyu is the Angelina Jolie of Figure Skating.

If we go back to pre-PW, playing catch up is what he's known for? Back then, doing well in LP didn't necessarily give him a win though.
Errr, Skate Canada these two years?

But but but, they manage to do so faster by not giving their children transition, and difficult steps and entry :sad21: Does their dad want to lower the current kids' quality of life just to be able to afford another one? I am calling child service :dev2:

Where he did poor SP but get back in the free? Quite plenty actually. In fact he was more of a FS skater than SP one in his junior and early senior years, no?
On the top of my head, 2010 junior worlds, 2011 Cup of Russia, 2011 GPF, 2011 Nats, 2012 worlds. 2012 gpf, 2013 worlds. 2014 worlds.
For 2010 JW, 2011 CoR and 2014 worlds, he end up winning despite being behind in the SP actually.

I know you love him, we all do. But the pressure he piles on himself is bigger and bigger, so he's bound to buckle under it. He's still angrier at hiself now than you could ever be - so out of kindness, maybe you could forgive him one transgression? He's doing what he can - he still fought on with the programme.
Mental blocks can be quite hard to overcome, but in this case I'm not 100 percent sure it's just mental.
I sure am glad I'm no Patrick Chan fan. I'd be in a mental institution by now. :)

I've looked at the protocols and... judges still like Yuzuru. He got over 10 pts in GOE alone, he even got the positive GOE for the popped combo. Nathan and Shoma got just under 6.5 GOE. If he has a quality skate in the LP, the GOE gap between him and others will be even bigger, which should help if he is to overcome Nathan and Shoma.:)

I felt a bit calmer when i read that. The fact that the judges still like him it's very reassuring hahaha.

When i was watching him i felt like he didn't completely get into the program, i felt him so restrained. He seemed happy when he landed the 4Lo but i thought he looked less expressive.
Like someone else said here, i have high hopes but low expectations for a clean H&L, and still, if he doesn't at least is not at World's. It will be good practice for that i think.

I feel like he has been able to move up, but I can't recall him winning it aside from 2014 worlds.

So he provides his kids with the best quality and environment? Well, his kids do not get much preferential judgement, alas - they're more liable to mistakes because he's such a strict daddy and expects them to be successful in difficult situations.

It's about 60:40. I've just counted, there were 18 competitions where his placements were different in the SP and FP (so not 1/1 or 2/2 in both), 8 times he did better in the SP than worse in the FP, and 10 times his placement was worse in the SP and better in the LP.

Thank you! I wouldn't altogether give up hope then! :)

he can always do 4-4 combo :shock2::biggrin:

I think 4-4 is not allowed by the law. He will be penalized haha.

Yes he does :yay:
Which is why it would be nice if his children could really all get along for once lol, especially with a really nice vehicle such as hope and legacy :luv17:
