Apparently Shoma is adding a 4S, probably to Worlds - I mean good on him to be able to do that but given that he has yet to go clean in both his short program and free skate... Well it does seem like a bit of a weird priority? I mean good to get milage I guess?
What if actually Yuzuru just goes "fu*k it" and decides to learn the 4A right now out of competitiveness...?
If there are changes, I would assume at best it has something to do with that *blasted* 4S3T.

ever since the 4cc fs... sometimes when I mentally go through his program layouts... I imagine him spontaneously changing that last 3Lz... to a 4Lz...
I doubt it will affect him so much. I think he is the type who goes after his own pace and ideals. If he changes his layout, I think it is mostly because he is uncomfortable with it and think he will have a better success rate with the new one (like he did in Chopin). Keep in mind that he still keep his original layout from the beginning of season in AC and not change a single thing, even though many around him upgrade/change their layout. I doubt he wants to gamble for worlds too. He didn't last season and I doubt he will this season. If there are changes, I would assume at best it has something to do with that *blasted* 4S3T.
The more things keep happening in men's division, the more I think about that very old French saying of as one makes one's bed, so one finds it or the more common English version you've made your bed, now lie in it.
This is my best guess too. If there are changes, then it'd be a change to make sure he goes clean. He's not the type to be driven into panic mode, he'll do his thing. Of course it's anyone's guess what happens instead of the 4S-3T. There is the easy way and then there are other ways :roll9:

Quick question:
Does Yuzuru using the new quad (4Lo) affect his salchow as both are edge jumps? I mean, did it have any effect on his quad sal since the sal has been quite consistent for past competitions prior to this season?
I am just one curious newbie in figure skating. Hope my question makes some kind of sense

At 4CC medal ceremony he looked at the top of podium in such a way... it broke my heart![]()
yes, sorry I didn't mean to imply that he would try to learn and include 4A for Worlds, just that perhaps straight after, due to his competitive streak, he might seriously go for it. Instead of after PC18, but yes you guys are probably right - even though he is pretty competitive he is quite good at pacing his progress and it doesn't make much sense to go after it so soon. I don't expect any changes at all for Worlds, not even anything about 4S3T. But I expect a more elaborate backup plan, not an improvised one. Not that I didn't like it, it was awesome, but it is just to feel more confident.

He seems to want that World title, which is the only reason I think he might change his layout (2S-Lo-4S?)
He was probably already plotting how he wasn't going to let that happen again.
Behind all that adorableness is one fierce competitor. :luv17:
Yes, I think that he might be practicing the 2S-Lo-4S quite seriously, problem is though if that's the case it could just result in more overthinking...

Just rotating the jump is a huge hurdle. Maybe he'll try it after the Olympics but it's not going to happen before that.
I can't see it, it says the page doesn't exist![]()

I am no expert, but I do remember reading (sportymags I think?) that Yuzuru basically started practicing the 4Lo as a way to stabilize his 4S, which was very inconsistent in competition for quite a while. So I think the 4Lo is not a problem, also because he has been landing the solo 4S in the free skate (and the 4S-combo in the short).
