Overall I like the swan costume, I just don't get why that deep V back is needed .

to highlight his beautiful shoulder blades?

I love that deep V back! I was so excited when I first saw it. i stared at the photo of the back for a few minutes.

Frankly, I find most of his ex costumes horrendous, especially nothing beats Final time traveler and Vertigo 2011 version... those are too much.
As for competition costumes I dislike everything about NDP, cuts, costume, choreo ... I only forgave DW this year .. after The Swan

I kinda agree with you. Hana ni nare is absolutely gorgeous though, definitely one of my favourite and I really hope he chooses another costume in that style in the future.

But I think POTO (the 2nd one) is maybe my favourite. And this season's swan. I also like Requiem despite everyone calling it a lettuce

I like all of these, most of all POTO2 and even the seaweed. He looks gorgeous in them. I would add Seimei and this one. He looks like a prince.

No, you're in majority - but I love the swan costume. But again, he's the only skater in the world who'd look gorgeous in it - he does become a swan...

I just have imagined it on Javi.

But only Yuzu has the right to wear it.

Nathalie Péchalat loves manly men with manly costumes so I wouldn't be surprised she doesn't like it

I think I have a problem with costume with feathers. I just want to pluck the skaters who wear them
And also the low-cut neckline... I don't think it highlights his beautiful silhouette ?

did he get back injuries??

I wouldn't go as far as to suspect injuries but I think he just took it out because it's risky? It could cause him injuries in the long run and isn't even his best element nor is it advantageous BV-wise... Although I did start enjoying his biellmann more this season, his haircutter at the end looked really elegant! I will miss it if in fact he won't put it in again but it's for the best I guess

Haha I never quite understood the final time traveller esp the flowers. I think a lot of his costumes emphasize his movements during the performance (swan, Hana, hl, etude, requiem, etc with bias cuts, shades, necklines). I don't think final time traveler does that.

is it the taste difference? both me and my sister (who doesn't care about Yuzu) found all Yuzu's costumes (including boobskirt) so beautiful. we were not such a fan of PW costume, it's too normal for us. My sister would join me watching Yuzu's programmes just to appreciate the costumes, she even asked me to save the photos so that she can show the design to her tailor to copy them.

Lol, yes, it IS a matter of taste.

You and your sister evidently belong to my and my Mom's school of costume perception: bizarre=good, understated=bad. I loved the boobskirt too, although my top 2 are Etude and Requiem. Though, it must be said, LGC lavender costume of supreme tightness is so over the top that it's a very close 3rd.

I think NDP costume would have been amazing if it got rid of the cross. The cros made it all look like too much, but I liked the color, the way the costume went down asymetrically onto one leg, the flowing collar, and I loved the assymetrical gloves, and the string detail on one hand.

I think this is what Yuzuru's H&L costume lacks: a bit of assymetry, a bit of crazy. (and the colors clash horribly). But hey, my mom likes it.

I think it does come down to taste. PW works for the programme I guess (and worked a lot more me at the time esp because RJ2 is one of my least favourite outfits and programmes from him) I embrace his liking to look like a sparkly, ruffled fantasy character But I can also be easily swayed by how well he performs in that costume and how much I like the music/programme.

Yuzu can certainly get away with outfits very few other men can because he has a very slim body and...frankly, because he's rather pretty. Shoma is cute too but he's a stockier build and would look awful in any of Yuzuru's costumes. Javi has overall a more typically masculine build and face so looks hilarious in an outfot that doesn't quite compliment that. Yuzu is a bit freer and can pull off outfits that are more on the typically masculine side and outfits a bit...less so But because he tends to skate with a lot of drama so goes for flashier costumes, anything that isn't somewhat theatrical looks kinda plain on him.
