Perhaps...?
My understanding overall is that the edge jumps depend a lot on the curve and speed, so switching jumps around like that might require a bigger choreo change than he'd like at this point in the season. But next season perhaps? if he's adding 4Lz anyway, maybe 4T and 4S both would only be in second half. If 4L stays in first.
Hello all! I usually just pop in to see what's going on once in a while. Just like to say thank you for all the translations and some very interesting discussions. It is extremely difficult to catch up with so many new pages in recent days, not that this is a bad thing of course.
I have seen Yuzu skate live in WC 2014 but I was just a general spectator back then. This upcoming WC, I am going as a fan! Hopefully I will bring him some luck to be at the top of the podium again. If anyone else here is going, come say hi! I'll be going to all events and will be seating in section 120, first few rows. Hoping to get tickets to PC 2018. If not, then perhaps GPF Japan 2017 or WC 2018. Any idea of tickets to either events so far? I recalled Helsinki's website/tickets (?) were up around the same time as WC Boston. Wondering why WC 2018 is so quiet. :think:

This thread has been moving insanely but thanks everyone for all the translations! I love watching all his performances with different commentators and the Google sheet seems to have grown really nicely 
I wonder if we should also collect English language videos too just for reference and bookkeeping. Particularly CBC and BESP...
I think it's easier for him to do 4T tired than 4S, so I don't think that trick will work for him for 4S, haha. I'm curious if he would change anything for Worlds. He didn't change the 3Lz-3T for the Chopin SP the entire season but he also knows that the margin for error is almost non existent now.

The new 4cc interview is really informative. Is this the first time he has flat out said that he is unbeatable if he does his thing? I don't recall him saying that that blatantly before. Here's hoping the confidence will last through World's.
Also, I like that he's still observing other skaters and taking what he can from them to improve himself!

And yes! Thank you so much to everyone providing such amazing translations!!! I haven't even had time to read through everything yet :shocked: I'm always so grateful to all those who put so much time and effort into translating for us non-speakers, both in the past and present.

I just woke up on Sunday morning and caught up on the tread. Somewhere above was a question if anybody has more german commentary. I rarely watch fs on german tv because it is seldom live these days.
But I remember like today the commentary of Rudy Cerne at Boston Gala:
"This is Yuzuru Hanyu who gave us an unbelievably beautiful short progamme. Watching Yuzuru Hanyu skate is a world event, regardless of his final placement."
And it should be said that " world event" in german is really big, it means something happening on a global scale, the word was made up by Rudi Cerne, it is not really a german expression.
Hearing it i was very much consoled about Boston free programme, because he said: forget it, his skating is still a " world event"

But that reminds me of what the CBC commentary said during the gala too. To "just enjoy, because Yuzuru Hanyu skates in a place that most of us can only dream of." How apt!

He left such comment also in an interview before GPF2016,(about 1:20) after being asked about how he was feeling going into the competition as the reigning champion and WR holder, and he answered that it was fine for him because he could focus on himself because holding WR meant that if he would skate the way he could skate, no one would beat him. His comment after 4CC was a response to a question based on such comment in the past. To translate the interviewer’s question word to word, he said “It had been like when you would skate the way you skate, you would be unbeatable, but now one mistake can be fatal, so we wonder how you’re going to fight from now on…” and Yuzu responded that a program with one mistake is not up to his standard of skating the way he skate.
Nobody seems to know. It's Italy; things do tend to be a bit more, shall we say, relaxed there, so I wouldn't be surprised if the ticket sales don't start until April or even later. (Worlds '17 started on March 18, i.e. six days from now a year ago).

I'd say we could very well add English language video links into our google doc table, couldn't we? Just to serve as a general reference point - along with our page one?

So, Yuzuru Hanyu – he looked brilliant in the Team Event. Everyone said about how light and weightless he looked, how concentrated he was, how technical and flexible he was. Lots of descriptions, and one of them – the last one – how young he was. Boys are different from girls – look at Lipnitskaya, 15! To do a quad at 14, 15 or 16 is a separate experiment and they haven’t reached it yet, but they will! I mean at real competitions!
The music is Gary Moore’s famous song and he’s immersed in his movements. He’s so free.
(He keeps silent during the program)
It’s just incredible, the way it looks here at the stadium, live… so free and fluent that Gary Moore’s improvisations on his electric guitar fall short of expressing the freedom of this guy’s movements. One gets an impression as if he’s just walking freely, as if he’s at a show, as if he’s Kurt Browning’s son (???), as if it’s nothing much to him, as if he didn’t start working yet! All this conceals hard work and incredible talent – only the combination of these two things will produce an impression we’re getting from Yuzuru Hanyu’s skate. And I can only wonder how much air flight his jumps have – look at his quad, off he jumps – and his skate was straight backwards on his left foot, and his landing is so exact. When he was executing his jump, there was an impression he could have added a bit to the jump. 3A – the absolute. Of course, that freedom has an element of youthful skating, he’s got a teenager face and we’re not used to such boys becoming Olympic Champions. It’s more usual with girls, but in men’s competitions it just doesn’t happen. We’re used to seeing a grown-up man’s build and character in skating, but it makes it more interesting to see that youthful viewpoint of the world. He’s gone beyond 100! That’s a record! 101,45! Oooh! The free program will be more interesting now as the experience of some athletes will try to overcome this youthful exuberance.
