oOooOo I´m at work right now just came here a moment to find the results and that was very surprising but I want to say there is still the free program yuzu, he can come back, I'm excited to see how he will respond, maybe I'll be able to see that young romeo came back in Nice and Saitama, now is hope and legacy turn, you can do it yuzu!!!!:luv17:

Because the mistake on the 4S was counted as a fall. And falls on quads have a -4 on GOE plus the -1 deduction.
No it was not counted as a fall. It was automatic -3 for No combo. And since his 2T was not counted as combo, it's -3 and for quads it's -4.

He got -1 for late start (start at 30.3)

It's not so much the results, but his reaction, he looks so disappointed :(
Of course he looks disappointed just some minutes after the SP. But, he will overcome it very fast. You can't survive in this sport if you get disappointed that easily.

Oh you're right! Sorry, my mind when straight to a fall after seeing all the -3 :slink:
I'm still a bit bummed about the result and sleep deprived and I'm not thinking straight.

That late start deduction...*sigh*

I hope he can shake this off for the FS, good luck on Saturday Yuzu!

Yes, of course, I'm confident he'll do great in the FS, I just don't like seeing him like he's about to cry, it makes me want to give him a hug. But yeah, looking at the season's best for the other skaters I'm not too worried he'll podium. I'm more worried he won't be able to do the CoD...

today was wild definitely what we didnt expected
hope you guys don't feel down!
i will just think of this as painful and important lesson he learned today at world's before olympics
bye~
:bed:

Well, I would have wanted him to skate last because that seems to fire him up, but since he wasn't in top 3 that wasn't going to happen... and he wouldn't want to start 2nd, we know that.

Best he can do is lay it down. It's not like he can really "lose" the gold right now but he can "win" a medal, maybe even gold, if he skates his program to its potential and throws caution to the wind. Yes, Javi won after being down by even more points last year, but he had huge help from Yuzu that night... Yuzu won't get that from Javi. Javi just seems to pull it together at World's, and he's hugely rewarded for his skating, so I doubt we'll see any big meltdowns from him. This is a pride thing now, I think...

I think it's doubly disappointing for him because his warm up was great and so was his RT earlier (aside from the poped axel). And he got an amazing 4Lo in the SP. So what happened with the 4S after and also losing the combo he fought so hard for (god, that rippon 2T was the most amazing invalid element ever) just sucked. He is in the best physical shape he's ever been in, and he still can't get the performance he feels he is capable of. So I am very sad for him. Fight back in the FS, Yuzu!
