I see. Kikuchi san is the Japanese gentleman who always follows him around? Have always been curious, what is his role exactly?

His healer or something like that. I read a while ago that he was Yuzu's local doctor in Sendai who now travels to all competitions with him

He is a mystery.

Or maybe he carries a phone in day to day life but during competitions he leaves it in his room in order to avoid distraction.
I believe he has a phone (but the simple kind with no social media stuff) and he leaves it at his hotel. Better this way, less distraction for the competition. :)

I know right? Another chopin? I am thinking it was just laid out choices prior to deciding on hope and legacy (which they eventually chose). Bummer. If it is indeed his account I wonder if he would make a playlist like this again this season considering fans have found it :hopelessness:
For SP he always let Jeff decide but for LP these past 2 seasons look like he is the one who decided more

I will definitely be stalking this account from now on :dev3:

Hmm I'm not exactly sure if he leaves it at the hotel because I've seen him using it sometimes at the arena, but perhaps he gives it to someone else before the competition?

A girl can hope :)

Yes it would be difficult because Chopin just had perfect scores, but he's raised his base value a bit with LGC AND he's world champion now, so who know ? :cheer::cheer:

Chopin was pure perfection, forever best SP for me. When Javi got so close to this score I was shivering, I thought he was going to break WR. It could have been even more bitter SP event then.

So I was watching this LP vid with the Japanese commentary

Did I hear it right, at around 6:47 Tracy was saying something along the lines, "And your mom is right there,"and pointing someone at the back area of the K and C. :luv17: And at the other broadcast videos she was also bowing to someone, I presumed was Mama Hanyu, while Yuzu was hugging Brian. I don't know if this arrangement (Tracy being present at the practices and k&C) is temporary or permanent, but I love how she's like a doting mama, and always ecstatic and smiling (and that K&C reaction when they announced Yuzu's score )

Curiouser and curiouser. The last thing I was expecting to hear was that he was a doctor. Physical therapist maybe, but not a traveling personal doctor.
I actually thought he was a personal assistant of some kind :slink:

Yes, my heart stopped when Shoma's points was announced. I was calculating like mad in my head. I like Shoma very much, he gave it all, but this competition had another hero.

I almost died waiting for his scores... In that moment I was just really relieved but now after comparing their GOEs my blood boils...

Yes, it is controversial he only got 223, it should have been 230 :dev2:

Yes... me too. I just can't. Those air positions, those landings, those spins... I really want to make a slow mo comparison post and stick it in people's faces how blatant it is... all of the things we discussed in this thread after SP is still so true.

The warlock who jinx everybody else to miss their jumps :dev2:
:laugh2:

I like to believe the skating gods were watching.

His win was "controversial" because everyone thought Kikuchi san would hocus pocus Yuzu's performance to 230++ instead of 223 :laugh:

I guess Canadian judge know how to dispel magic wave from the warlock :dev2:

The sad part is a slow mo isn't even necessary to see how superior Yuzu's jumps were. I could see it while watching it live from the 15th row. The GOE bullet points are straightforward.

The best thing about Yuzuru's win is that it was so decisive and spectacular, no one can actually contest it or say that he was overscored or whatever (some are trying nevertheless). I was trying to be mentally prepared for the attacks on him but it is very quite and peaceful.

Anyway, I am so glad that he won this WC. When he goes back home to Sendai to celebrate the opening of that monument of his and Shizuka, it will be really great.

Looking back, in his entire senior career, I think he has never been in a better shape than how he was this season. Outside of AC and SC, the last 4 competitions were all great; he did not make too many mistakes and scored above 290 (above 300 3x times). He did not fall so much aside of 4S3T (lol); the other times he actually fell was on 4t and 3Lz at AC and those 4Lo at SC. His subpar-skates (at SC SP and AC FS) were above expectation considering his struggle and injury prior to the beginning of the season, but even those were not bad.

His jump success rate this season
4Lo (landed) : 10 out of 12 - 83%
4Lo (positive GOE) : 8 out of 12 - 67%
4S (landed+positive GOE) : 6 out of 6 - 100 %
4S3T (landed + positive GOE) : 3 out of 12 - 25%
4T (landed+positive GOE) : 5 out of 6 - 83% (I forgot his emergency layout 4T so that is 6 out of 7 or 86% but since it is unplanned...)
3A (landed) : 18 out of 18 : 100%
3A (positive GOE) : 16/17 out of 18 : 89%/94%

Aside of the 4S3T, not bad huh  ;)

Isn't he now a skating god himself?

Sorry, skating gods...
