Since I wasted my 1000th post complaining about live stream links :palmf: (thanks for confirming, hydro) I was careful not to pass 1111 this time!! Fingers and toes crossed, hair braided… 1 for World Champion at Helsinki , 1 for 5-peat GPF victory at Nagoya, 1 for Pyeongchang OGM, and 1 for World Champion at Milan!

:hap93:

First day of the week back to work, after Yuzu put out that exquisite skate, was next to impossible. I ended up making everyone sit around during lunch break to re-watch for the umpteenth time with me.

With Hanyu breaking free from the ghost of himself at Helsinki, I was finally able to sit down and watch the long interview he gave the day after the free skate at Boston last year (x). Everything from Boston, apart from Requiem, was off-limits to me… but now, I can take it as “just Boston” knowing he and his team has grown so much since then, and that he has now overcome that obstacle :) In the interview, he was subdued and clearly still processing, but pleasant and determined (although the eyes looked like he had cried himself to sleep the night before). :console:

To put it clearly, this isn’t the end yet, and I am going to work hard with all my might, once again.

He then proceeded to talk about wanting very badly to raise the technical for 2016-2017, but also, to maintain the completeness of the program and show his own interpretation. Thinking about the way he hugged Javi, Tracy and Brian, and how he said this had been a very hard year, I can only imagine what he must have gone through mentally and physically to finally herald the spring. To imagine, he came to Worlds healthy and left Worlds in one piece! :luv17:

Back to the interview, when asked what he wants to eat once he returns to Japan, he paused, thought really hard, and gave up. All he could think about was skating, and he added,

Probably, my character will never change. Even if I'm told to change, I wouldn’t be able to. Therefore, I'd like to cherish my own personality, and face skating head-on again.
trust him to take a light-hearted fluff question and turn it into tearjerker moment. Or maybe it's just me..

I love Charlie's attitude, I hope he will continue to work with the skating media. And I've been also loving the Ice Talk podcast, they're by far the best skating podcast running at the moment thanks to Jackie Wong the only one that is worth it actually, to be honest, from the ones I've seen It would be even greater if it was in video format but the podcast is also fine. :hap93:

Does anyone remember where is that news piece about Seto Daiya, that swimmer which apparently is a Yuzuru fan, talkng about him? It was way back. I'm searching at dailymotion but I can't remember the exact date and couldn't find it with the search function of this thread. Thanks!

I remembered it because there was this small section today with him and another guy (maybe a swimmer too?), talking about the 1994 generation athletes again and I'm guessing he choosed again Yuzuru from the whole batch. I'm not sure though, i'm just exercising my deduction skills developed after intensely watching japanese skating news. I'm probably wrong though.

Lol. That last question was actually "who earns the most after Ootani-kun?" "Hanyu-kun I guess?" "CM, etc..." ^_^

Can I just mention how this suit they probably randomly provided him with fits better than his banquet ones which is just sad.

And I love how he walks into the room like he owns the place. :luv17:

He owns our hearts though 💖 I love even the way he walks

I think I am getting old and creepy with my dreams
This time I saw Yuzuru wearing very, very dark blue costume almost black , it was Olympics and he skated clean LP to violin music, this time was last to skate in final group ..he was pretty angry about himself , I was sitting there, looked up at the boards and saw that he won Olympics by 4.29 pts but he was cursing that he could do the spin in SP better...
( hoping I will get good rest this off season, I feel I need it)

edit: if I am not mistaken another guy who medaled was Boyang, I don't remember if it was silver or bronze. :palmf::laugh2:

The part about winning is the best. Anything else are just details. May all this come true, including the dark costume and violin music
