Since I wasted my 1000th post complaining about live stream links
(thanks for confirming, hydro) I was careful not to pass 1111 this time!! Fingers and toes crossed, hair braided… 1 for World Champion at Helsinki
, 1 for 5-peat GPF victory at Nagoya, 1 for Pyeongchang OGM, and 1 for World Champion at Milan!
:hap93:
First day of the week back to work, after Yuzu put out that exquisite skate, was next to impossible. I ended up making everyone sit around during lunch break to re-watch for the umpteenth time with me.
With Hanyu breaking free from the ghost of himself at Helsinki, I was finally able to sit down and watch the long interview he gave the day after the free skate at Boston last year (x). Everything from Boston, apart from Requiem, was off-limits to me… but now, I can take it as “just Boston” knowing he and his team has grown so much since then, and that he has now overcome that obstacle
In the interview, he was subdued and clearly still processing, but pleasant and determined (although the eyes looked like he had cried himself to sleep the night before).
He then proceeded to talk about wanting very badly to raise the technical for 2016-2017, but also, to maintain the completeness of the program and show his own interpretation. Thinking about the way he hugged Javi, Tracy and Brian, and how he said this had been a very hard year, I can only imagine what he must have gone through mentally and physically to finally herald the spring. To imagine, he came to Worlds healthy and left Worlds in one piece! :luv17:
Back to the interview, when asked what he wants to eat once he returns to Japan, he paused, thought really hard, and gave up. All he could think about was skating, and he added,

To put it clearly, this isn’t the end yet, and I am going to work hard with all my might, once again.

trust him to take a light-hearted fluff question and turn it into tearjerker moment. Or maybe it's just me..Probably, my character will never change. Even if I'm told to change, I wouldn’t be able to. Therefore, I'd like to cherish my own personality, and face skating head-on again.
