Liar, liar, pants on fire.

You'll be back.
Believe me, i will do my best not to unlock invisible mode again. And i'm being serious
:otopic: Yesterday i had been listening to Me Too by Meghan Trainor and it funny how much it reminds of him. Yep there's Hall of fame, Unstoppable and everything but its funny how this song suits him :laugh2:

Ooooh, i have my fair share of songs that remind me of him or make me think about the impact he's had in my life :)

Look at 0:35 how differently he expresses the choreography compared to the skaters around him, how he languidly waits and then snaps his hands up, and then he subtly rollllls his shoulders to the groove of the music. And then 2:34 for a huge 3A with some great snappy choreography. That's musicality right there. ;)

Other gala finales that make me think, "Hmm! I'd actually love to see him do this kind of music!"
NHK 2015 Gala Finale Gershwin's music verges into warhorse territory, but those russian split/ballet jumps are pretty spectacular on the music
2013 GPF Gala Finale The "Trepak" Russian Dance music is just so fun, it's relatively unused compared to the rest of the Nutcracker Suite probably because it demands such high energy, but just imagine what a great SP it would make!

hahaha I've been thinking this song suits him lately. Spread his wings and fly~ into a 4a

I've been busy catching up on Yuzu history - including reading old posts in this thread... boy, is that a bit of a roller-coaster lol - and this thread feels like it's been growing exponentially lol Love it, even if I can't keep up! ^^;

Speaking of next year's programs, I, too, hope Meoima is right and he'll do a rock number! As a rock - and JRock >.> - fan, that'd be soooo cool! I do wish that for the long, too, he'd do something unusual and not classical... I'm probably part of a minority and I'm pretty sure it's just my preconception, but classical music programs feel very... safe and common. Beautiful, but not really... you know, special... Then again, I might be the only person here who doesn't really like his Chopin program much *hides*

On a safer - for me :P - topic, I was wondering if anyone could point out where I could find videos - or even audio - of his programs, without commentary... I've found Seimei, Hope & Legacy and Phantom of the Opera so far, in those exact cuts and I like listening to them as background music, when I work. I remember his efforts and it motivates me, I guess. I also wanted Romeo & Juliet 1, Parisian Walkways, Let's go crazy... Actually, I want them all to be able to pick lol. I admit I haven't searched for all of them yet, but I was thinking maybe I'm not the only one who wants these and someone else has gotten them before and would be willing to share. :o:

And lastly, I have a thing for putting together timelines of events and was contemplating doing it for Yuzu, but I couldn't find any compiled information of all the ice shows he's been to - show name, date, location. Is there such a thing and I didn't find it, or has no one been brave enough to try? lol It does seem like quite a bit of work...

I went to the WTT 2 years ago and I don't think the practices were open then. The only open practices I've ever heard of in Japan was 2014 Worlds where the practice rink was open for viewing if you bought a ticket for it. At the last WTT The weather was warm, and I was ok in the arena with a down coat and blanket.

Thanks!

I've sometimes thought of bookmarking major events in this thread so people might navigate to his major competitions more easily...but the volume of this thread is so huge, I'd never find the time.

Some of his competitive program music you can find on Youtube:

SP 2008/2009 "Bolero"
FS 2008/2009 "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini OP. 43"

SP 2009/2010 "Mission Impossible"
FS 2009/2010 "Rhapsody of a Them of Paganini OP. 43

FS 2010/2011, "Zigeunerweisen"

SP 2011/2012 "Étude" by Scriabin
FS 2011/2012 "Romeo + Juliet" soundtrack

SP 2012/2013-2013/2014 "Parisienne Walkways" by Gary Moore
FS 2012/2013 "Notre Dame de Paris"

FS 2013/2014 "Romeo and Juliet" soundtrack by Nino Rota

SP 2014/2015-2015/2016 "Ballade No.1." by Chopin
FS 2014/2015 "The Phantom of the Opera" by Webber

FS 2015/2016 "Seimei"

Though Asian Dream Song and View of Silence are uploaded in one video, the audio is not in a good quality, so I listen to the two separate songs:
View of Silence, Asian Dream Song

On Yuzu's costumes, I'm not sure if he has a particular designer that does all his costumes. I think the man who did his LGC costumes also did his Chopin costumes. However, the designer who did Seimei is Satomi Ito. Curiously, his costume is not on her website (you would think it would be given how iconic that FS is) but part of the costume fitting was filmed.

Those moments that you highlighted above are all Yuzu doing jazz :) Slinky movement contrasted with angular, snappy movement in the arms, shoulder roll with a torso ripple, the drag step...and again, he does it very naturally and easily.

Thanks so much for posting this! I've been looking for this gala performance forever! I couldn't remember which event it was from. I love Yuzu's 4T right to the music. Even if it's a gala or just a practice, I love it when he skates to the music. :luv17: It reminds of this practice with "I Dreamed a Dream" playing in the background. He was timing his skating and his 4T to it. It's a shame he fell because the timing of the 4T was perfect and now I wish we could really see him do a Les Miz program.

Thank you, guys, for all your hard work translating the commentaries from so many languages! I think I saw his FS a hundred times already for the sake of hearing as many comments as it possible about his superb FS! :thank:
Tomorow is the the biggest religious holiday of Christianity, so for all the christian members of this thread and forum I wish you a HAPPY EASTER!
May God help as all and Yuzuru for the rest of the year! May we all stay healthy and in peace! Love you guys! :ghug:

Yeah, I know what you mean... I've been browsing through for weeks and I think I haven't even gone through a tenth of the pages here... it's quite awesome really, but also a bit overwhelming. It's also why I'm a bit reluctant to try the timeline thing... there's so much stuff and so little spare time.

Oh, thank you very much! How did I miss those in my search? :scratch2:

What a nice post. :)

I'd like to wish a Happy Easter to you as well and also to everyone who celebrates it. :)

I'll also think of you Meoima and pray that everything will go well next week.

Thank you sally! It's always so wonderful to hear people who actually know what they're talking about; the man is wonderful!

And thank you everyone for all the translations so far! :thank:

You are welcome!

I am very happy that you guys like this commentary. I'll try and translate their videos next season too. I think it was the first time this new channel broadcasted the World Championships with his commentary.
