I honestly thinking that LGC is the most difficult SP from him. Those jumps, transition, spins, steps sequence.. Could you imagine how big the score is with the clean LGC?

I don't think anyone on this thread is ever going to stop loving him because of bad results. I wholeheartedly agree with his words at gpf 2015: "Score is score. Performance is performance"
If only there was a way to let him know that we love him no matter what 💔

Maybe I'm being too negative, but I don't think he'll accept much comforting... Rather than hugs, I wish someone would - gently - hit him over the head and show him all of his epic programs - especially short - so he can get the "not good at short programs" out of his head. It'd definitely be better than letting him re-watch this short...

I also didn't really expect him to be relaxed... there was A LOT of pressure on him at this event - both his own and external - and maybe he was actually even a little bitter that everyone else could have fun - though that might be a little out of character.

I'm also not really comforted by his post skate interview... he always says things like that. Yes, last time he looked a bit more close to tears, but that was nowhere near as bad as this was.

He'll bounce back. Even if not tomorrow, he will, because he's bounced back from much worse things.

I don't know what to say about LGC... I love it, but it might be too frustrating for him... I also don't think he'll be able to enjoy it until he 'conquers' it. But if that doesn't happen in competition, that might be bittersweet as well. As in "why couldn't I do it when it mattered the most?!".

Err... I guess I'm very familiar with that kind of negative overthinking ^_^; But I think even with his weaknesses, Yuzu is mentally stronger than me, so I really hope he'll prove me wrong!

I agree with you

I think Yuzu's mental strength is incredible but sometimes I just wonder if the pressure is too much

It's always saddening to hear him focused on his mistakes because he's only human and he's already done so many great things

I think many of us do that type of negative overthinking (it's a stressful world) ... if it goes away after a while then it's not so bad but if the negative overthinking persists then it's not very healthy...

I woke up with heavy snow today after the trees came to blossom because of spring. Now it is all covered with huge amounts of very wet snow. We have a lot of broken branches on the ground. What a drastic change!
Same here, spring took a sudden break. Weather was really crappy all morning, grey sky, snow, freezing cold. But about half an hour ago the sun came out and is now shining like she's trying to make up for lost time  good omen, I say.

I think they kinda expected Yuzu to beat that WR, at least at WTT. And, well, we saw what happened. Yuzu, just stop trying to be perfect! Be yourself!

Mmm... my post generate some unpleasant... sorry :(
I don't want to say this, but I was worried about Shoma's score actually.
OK, I'm gonna stop this talk. Sorry everyone!

I totally agree! It's such a treat to watch Yuzu skate because he's a true performer. He makes competitions look like a concert performance and it's just amazing. My parents don't follow skating anymore but they've been converted after watching Yuzu's awesome performances.

Also the people on this thread are awesome because the outpouring of support and positivity after every competition is just heartwarming.

If only we can let him know how much we love him!

Totally agree!

LGC is such a fast paced program with so many difficult elements! If performed clean then it may as well be another WR!

But no matter, Yuzu's been giving his all in this program all season and it's such a different style to his SP of before. He really challenges himself with this but if it doesn't work too well I hope he saves this program (which I personally really like TBH) for future performances and starts fresh with something he's more comfortable with for the Olympics.

To me, just seeing Yuzu skate is already a treat. I'll celebrate and be happy for him if he breaks WR and wins medals but even if he doesn't it's not gonna change my love for him. He's so beautiful on the ice I feel joy and blessed just to see it. His skating shows just what amazing things the human body can do. The only think I hope for is that he enjoys his skating (because I feel like he's really dedicated and he loves skating very much). I just wanna see him showcase his love for the ice. All he needs to do is get up there and skate the way he loves and I'll already feel happy watching it...
You know, whenever he has the situation when he needs show his best I just keep on saying- just do your thing. I wish he did not bring the expectations with him for every actual skate. It is too much to bear. I really want him to find a way to focus on what he can do best and enjoy the process because he really loves figure skating. I want it to be a happy place for him, again. Tomorrow, hopefully?;)

I don't think you should apologize. We were all riding the post world's happiness wave, and we probably were too positive. It IS the last competition if the season so he must be really tired too (honestly it looked to me like something was bothering him as we've all said before, but also like he would rather be anywhere but there)
I admit I expected and clean LGC too, didn't say WR bc I figured that a clean LGC would break the record.
Off season is coming, he will have time to rest as hopefully come back in a better mental state. He is a strong, smart kitty, but we should send him all our love. It worked last time 💖

I understand why he is worried about the SP. Four times this season he had to catch up after the SP (SC, 4CC, WC, WTT).

After what happened today I really hope he will chance this SP. Make a new one with a music chosen by himself and with which he will feel comfortable and to love it :( not experiments.

Sending lots of love, positive thoughts, funny smiling energy towards Yuzuru! You are not alone! We will be skating tomorrow with you! Anytime you feel like losing your power or focus - get ours! We are here to share our energy with you! Thank you for being such an inspiration! Go Yuzu! Fly! :ghug::ghug::ghug:

Hi Sorrento, you were missed in this thread. Thank youfor your words:agree:

I agree with YuzusHydroblade! Bonnie, don't apologize!

After the amazingness of his Worlds performance I think most of us fans were so high and hoping for a clean LGC.

I totally agree that he seems to be tired now after a long season of uphill battles.

I just hope he gets enough rest and relaxes so that he's all fresh and prepared for the new season.

He's smart and talented and he knows himself so well.

Let's all send him our love and best wishes 💖 💖 💖

Okay, I'm starting to feel better and recover. My only worry now is how Yuzu is feeling. I hope he's not taking it too much to heart. I hope he gets a good rest tonight, and get a good, fresh start tomorrow.

I am hoping for a wonderful LP from him tomorrow. And I hope he knows that whatever happens, we love him no matter what :)

No need to apologize, I understand what you were saying and according to the placements in the table of rezults I think that judges (and we) sort of expected Yuzu to be at the top. It did not happen today but soon it will. I think he can top his WR with his new layout and higher BV with a great performance. So - good luck to him. I know he can do it. Go Yuzu!:cheer:

I wonder if something is really bothering him.. He looks so scary tbh.. Annoyed or bad mood.. I can feel it from the opening ceremony

Oh, i didnt know what had happened..

Anyway, yuzu shouldnt apologize to prince. I dont think he will keep this SP judging from his interviews. Today is not his day. That's all. He's a human and only 22 years old. Every mountain he must climb is leading to the gold of pyeongchang. I believe so.

GO, yuzu!:hap10:

"Every mountain he must climb is leading to the gold of pyeongchang" -- I love this! :agree:

Yuzu's done so many amazing things that sometimes it's easy to forget he's only 22. He's a true star and he has a bright future ahead of him.

I'm only guessing but maybe the stress and the pressure of the competition was getting to him a bit...? :scratch2:

I dunno but it's just a huge amount of pressure on him externally and internally...

Back from WTT. Haven’t read this thread since last night and haven’t checked most of the news clips, articles, footages released or broadcasted today.

Yuzu looked very calm in opening ceremony and in 6-minutes-warm-up so I was bit surprised at the outcome of SP. In 6-minutes-warm-up, he first warmed himself up with spread eagle-3Lo-spread eagle, then checked each of his jumps only once and nailed each of them beautifully, so I thought he probably was fully ready and avoided further attempt to keep the good feeling about the jumps. I’m wondering what would have happened if he skated first like he did in Worlds. I’m wondering if he had peaked too early today, or something went wrong while he was waiting for his turn. This is Japan and some part of warm up area in Yoyogi can be seen from spectator, so there must have been a lot of distractions I think.

At the kiss & cry he was taking a serious look at the replay of his highlights. He might be judging himself now but I wish he can let go and enjoy himself tomorrow. (It must be difficult though…)

Now I’m going to read backwards this thread and everything else as much as I can…

Yes! Even though he can't perform LGC cleanly.. I honestly thinking his SP at NHK, GPF, and World's were great! It was fun to watch. I'm agree with a fresh SP for next season. Considering it will be Olympic season and the number of crazy quads, he needs a strong but save program that suit him. LGC is too difficult IMO.
