When he says he was going for 6 quads after the popped 4S, I think he probably counted the popped 4S too in there, as in attempting 6 quads, so he'd keep the 3F and probably try to do the 4S (or 4Lz?) at the end as he has done in practice before. So, yes, 4 quads in the second half. I'm having trouble processing this but I'm glad he ended up going for a (popped lol omg) 3A instead.

Uh yes, sorry, way too tired :palmf:, I was fiddling with the layout and forgot to switch out the 4S because in the end I decided 4 in the 2nd half would be too much. If he tried a quad instead of the 3F some of the choreo would have gone, hence the reference to it maybe. And if he did the Lz, he could have kept his precious 2 3As and the 3A at the end would have had a better chance of success (LOL) than a quad. Though seriously, I think he popped the A due to concentration. Though who knows, he might have tried all 4 in the second half and kept the 3F considering that he did practice the Sal.

Phew! I started watching NBCSN's stream without knowing what happened, saw the popped salchow, freaked out and closed it, then read every page here. And then I was able to go back and enjoy watching it. YOLO is definitely the right feeling for WTT! That K&C will entertain us for months. Looks like we didn't need Brian after all; Tracy and Ghislain were a great support. I love how their faces said "we always knew you could do it."

We've been through such an emotional journey with LGC and H&L. I started out unsure of them, and then they both grew incredibly special to me. For the Olympic season, I hope he will again have programs like PW, Chopin and Seimei that serve as "magical armor" for him. With those, I noticed that people who didn't like him found it difficult to criticize his artistry and deny him credit. He will need that power for gold.

Ryan and Tanith's comments were nice today, although they emphasized the technical side. They recognized he was more involved in this program than the short (I liked the camera work for the step sequence), and that he had less energy than Worlds, yet still pulled off that surprising second half. I think that's fair. I'm always nervous because Tanith starts from a lukewarm place with him.

Thank the lucky stars he won the free. The challenge is real, but he maintained an undiminished champion aura.

So true. I watched the broadcast today myself. Tanith is lukewarm sometimes, but she can be complimentary (though I'll always prefer her better half. In Charlie, We Trust :bow:). She did call his worlds performance incredible. And she loved his jumps today too. I don't think her comments were wrong about him yesterday but even then she was understanding and giving him the benefit of the doubt. I can tell P Chiddy really ticks off the most boxes for her though.

What's interesting to note, it was either during Nate or Boyang's skate, but I believe Ryan said that the new generation is doing all of these quads to challenge Yuzu, but Yuzu appears to be beating them at their own game and then he mentioned again the 3 quads in the second half (I think that really impressed Ryan).

Well, I think technically it should be any jump between 3.75 and 4.5 revolutions? Because 3.75 is an "acceptably underrotated" quad, and 4.5 is a quad axel. I suppose there are overrotated quad axels ... yeah idk. But 4.75 would be an acceptably underrotated quint? :shocked::slink::think:

But saying 'no more than five revolutions' to me usually means it's also part of the interval within which a quad is. But 5 revolutions automatically means a quint, not a quad.

IDK, English is hard. I'm overthinking. :laugh:

Quad = 4.75 revolutions> but ≥ 3.75 ...I think?

Was glad he seemed a bit happier.

Hope to see him cheering on the ladies and pairs tomorrow. He can finally relax now (and I hope he actually will)

I suppose a 5-revolution axel is a downgraded quint axel :laugh::laugh::laugh:
