I don't know if this is useful information, but Javi talked about training with Yuzuru in this season.

I can't concentrate on their interview because of BGM lol

I'm glad you were able to be there for his record breaking SP. I hope your good memory of that will override the memory of the Free skate.
Kozuka
"I think there is no need to worry about."
"He is a type of person who "attacks". He is stronger when he attacks, and keep attacking makes him calmer."
In one of the news I saw, Kozuka said he thought Yuzuru may have tried 4Lz and popped in the beginning. Of course, truth is unknown unless someone asks Yuzuru about it(I still think he tried 3Lz though)
Does anyone know the connotations of "senshu", like Hanyu-senshu? I know that it means "player", but I want to know what Japanese speakers feel when they hear this word. Does it sound more respectful than "san"? Or does it sound standard like President X, Chairman Y, etc.?
Truth is unknown about the lutz, but can I just say how odd and awkward Yuzu looked forcing himself to do 3lz and 3lo during practice? I really do think he was trying to fit the 3lz and 3lo into the pacing of his program while keeping the rhythm he had with the quads. The set up looked weird and he visibly had to check out of the rotation to do the triples during practice. Maybe this was part of the problem, I think if he attempted a layout similar to 2015/2016 I think he would've done better, but what's done is done.

Yuzuru arrived in Toronto on September 24. He has been practicing only one 4Lo a day, but the jump is getting better.

"I did SP yesterday, and I don't know if all our team members felt this way, but the audience must have nearly felt "Salchow is good enough"".
When Hanyu talked in a frank tone, laughter came out among reporters.
"If I'll be able to get this score steadily with 4S (in SP), I could put more emphasis on LP. It's vexing I had a little bit of that feeling in myself. But after ending (LP or the competition) like this, I thought I would never be able to perform like myself unless challenging."
And this writer says Yuzuru had tearful eyes during the interview, but as he continued talking he became calm.

Honda
"He has been succeeded in doing 4Lz."
He really sounded like he has actually seen it!! Honda-san, I know you saw it!! I'm so jealous!!![]()

Does this mean he might keep the 4S for now in the SP (at least for COR) so he only has to train the 4Lo for the FS, which might help with not overburdening the knee?
He didn't say his future plan exactly, but it depends on his knee condition IMO. But to see how he was frustrated at not showing 4Lo in ACI and kept saying he liked challenging, I guess he will do 4Lo in SP in this season if he is healthy.

Actually I wish he would ditch the 4L entirely, especially if he has the 4Lz. He just showed he can break the SP WR with the "humble" 4S, and it's a reliable "money" jump for him. Whereas (to me) 4L continues to look risky and inconsistent. He also never gets the same kind of speed and flow on exit, that he gets from his other big jumps - and that's something that counts towards GoE. (I'm not sure it's even possible with a loop jump).
His 4S looks incredibly strong this season. Can't remember him to pop that jump either in practice, run-through or competition. He never got higher GOE for 4S (+3,00) and 4S+3T (+2,80) before and with the left-foot-take-off it relieves his right knee.I hope so.

). He can do the 4Lz, if he thinks it's necessary to defend his world record (I doubt it).
