Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

(Why are you having so much fun?)
"There were lots of times when I was unable to attend the competitions, and there were the games I thought over and over again that I wanted to go even if I lost my sensation (of ankle). Considering that, first of all I am happy that I am in the official practice like this, and I am really happy that I can skate without thinking about my ankle or anything about the body."

:sad21:

I'm a bawling mess in between Pairs and now this.

I've been saying to myself that he has just started practicing on the ice in January and I am really trying to keep my expectation low, but it is very hard :drama:

I am beyond happy to know he is very happy now, these official practices show how he loves figure skating and being in the competition. Now only my wish is that he will not have any regret whatever the outcome he has. Ganbatte, Yuzuru!!

Me too... I keep telling myself that he's injured and off the ice for the longest time but I just can't. Mainly because I see him give WR scores when he's happy and just because he's YUZURU HANYU😝

finding out that the german pairs win OGM after 60+ years made me extra hopeful 🙏 that yuzu will also win back-to-back gold after 60+ years too 😝

:otopic: I find this hype over Nathan and making the last flight look like the clash between Yuzu and Nathan so irritating and insulting to other contenders. I mean:

Javier Fernandez: two-time world champion
Shoma Uno: reigning world silver medalist
Jin Boyang: two-time and reigning bronze medalist
Nathan Chen: :scratch2:

maybe because Nathan beat Yuzu at rostelecom cup and he has many quads. People seems to thinks that FS is about quads only. Though Javier beat Yuzu at WC before, for some reason Javi is not considered "rival", maybe because they are teammates and trains under one coach.

Well the last competition where the two went head-to-head Nathan came out on top. So I suspect it's still fresh on people's minds.

Tonight I'm going to be that person that sits in the corner during a party/dinner with their eyes glued to their phone  Happy lunear new years to Yuzu and his family! Hope he starts off the year with WRs galore :yahoo:

I usually don't post here but here we are.

It has been such a long time I see Yuzuru Hanyu showing much happiness and calmness on the ice. It is so rare and so long. And to see him loving the ice that much is very inspiring.

I'd rather see Yuzuru Hanyu happily skating than all the top skating competitions in the world. Medals what? I don't care. He has inspired so many people and people love his skating, not because of the medals he gets.

I only hope that he will have fun and truly enjoy the Olympics. He deserves this joyful moment. And when he is truly joyful, his happiness is contagious. People will feel right and feel fulfilled.

Thank you Yuzuru Hanyu, to come back to the ice after so many struggles, to show your love for skating, to embrace all the attention and support. We do not deserve you.

Best wishes for Yuzuru Hanyu.

Ganbatte, Yuzu! May you have a big smile at the end of both your programs at these Olympics.
