Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Y'all are celebrating too early. The LP will determine the OGM and the LP is a much higher mountain to conquer.

Um...is no one besides me worried about tmrw's close race?

I'm also worried, but I want to celebrate his coming back and wonderful performance right now. To me, his SP won my gold medal considering of what he had been through these 4 years. I am so proud of him and he will always be my No.1 skater whatever happens tomorrow.

Thank you, Yuzuru!!

Disagreed! Because this is the celebration of his come back not victory. This comeback after that nasty injury, keeping his head up all these days, and giving us this performance was amazing for itself regardless of the ultimate outcome of the competition :)

^I just wish everyone would stay calm and tone it down and realize the fight is only 1/3 complete.

If you know us we simply wanted to see him smile, we wanted him to be happy the same way that he brings happiness for us in all different ways. Again, believe me, this is regardless of the outcome :)

Incredibly happy for him! One hell of a comeback skate. Tomorrow night won’t be easy and he needs to be clean, but he already has a lot to be proud of.

I'm just afraid of Boston 2016 Worlds redux, where Yuzu had it in the SP and then lost it in LP to Javier. Saw it live and was traumatized.

Please, say it's not truth .....

It's going to be tight tmrw. I was hoping he'd have more leeway. He needs to be clean to win.

Do I want him to lead with a bigger margin? YES. Was it going to happen if everyone skated well? NO. Was I going to wish the other athletes ill? NO.

Will my worrying help him win the gold? NO. Will my not worrying help me sleep better tonight? YES. There you go.

What I am interested is if he will go for 4lo tomorrow. He said he will most likely judge by how the SP turn out. Now that he is in front, albeit not a lot, will he go for it?? Or aim for clean skate instead?

Same...it haunts me to this day so I can't even be 100% happy right now. Physically couldn't get out of bed and only made it in time for the last group of pairs. But I was a mess, and couldn't enjoy the ladies event. :con3:

But I am 200% proud of Yuzuru for putting out what he did. I missed his smile/laughter...badly. I scream "OMFG" out loud during dinner and my family thought I was crazy lol

Don’t jinx it guys! Let’s just enjoy this amazing comeback, thank you Yuzu. It was beautiful and oh how I had missed his skating this season.

He had 4lo in sp submitted but he did not do , Now that he has enough lead with shoma and Javi's bv is not that huge as Nathan's he can play safe. We 'll see at today's practice what they are planning .

I am most happy because I see his mentality is different. in Boston he was anxious for many different reasons, also gap is just 4.10 is not as huge it will keep him in focus, being chased. I was listening his interviews after SP and my gut feeling tells me his mentality is there where it should be. Hope he keeps it like this till the end. please stay positive and cheer, don't send negative energy in the universe in this new lunar year.

He is not chasing for gold medal and perfection ( did not even say kuyashi about lvl 3 spin) He is just happy to be there, to make Olys .. happiness and love of the job you are doing can turn into greatest power, I trust him and never ever stopped believing in him .

"I was pleased and happy to be able to skate. I am satisfied. I also feel that there is still tomorrow, which makes up nearly 60% of my feelings. I have finished SP early so I want to spend the time for conditioning. I do not particularly think anything about the SP score. I did what I could do. In today's condition, I did what I could do. S, T, A are the jumps which have been with me for years. I received everyone's cheers for the first time in a long time and thought that I came back. While feeling this music (of Chopin), I did my performance trying to give my interpretation and give everyone the touch to their interpretation. Tomorrow is another day, I will do what I have to do."

What a comeback! It is so hard to perform like that after just recovering from injury. Wish him luck at FS.
