Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

But I just want to ask why did Yuna want to leave Brian and what did Orser do to Yuna?

So complex since 2010. Many theories and reports came up, but honestly only the true story can be known only by them. And so many speculations popped up that just make me wish we bury this secret deep down and just focus on the many joyful moments they had :yay:

Yuna being glorious in 2014 and Brian coaching so many successful students since
And I mean Brian did magic for Cha Jun Hwan too! Look at him that score is biggggggg! :clapper:

Um...is no one besides me worried about tmrw's close race?
I think being worried does not change a thing. It is better to stay positive and stay calm. Maybe I am a bit superstitious but I do think as long as many people send good thoughts towards Hanyu, he can feel it and he can make it.

I wonder if Yuzu will go for the 4Lo and 5 quads program or not!
- He's got a 4 pt lead over Javi, who only has 3 quads in his program
- He's got a 7 pt lead over Shoma, who has 4 quads in his program
- He's got an 8 pt lead over Boyang, who has 4 quads in his program

The real quads threat was Nathan, but he's out of the race.

Javi has 3 quads in his LP

I believe that pray is more stronger than hope, wish, worry, prediction , anxiety ect. So I just want to pray and pray hard for the free skate.

(Okay, since apparently just mentioning Med's WR in comparison to Yuzuru's score got my comment removed from the men's SP thread for being off topic, I'll mention it here instead...)

I think Yuzuru's score is correct, totally fine with it not being a WR, but I don't understand how Medvedeva got a WR for her skate, and Yuzuru not getting one for his...

I understand why some people are worried and get panicked but it does not help anything. Hanyu will feel the egergy from his fans. Better to pray that he will get stronger in the free skate. He has learned many lessons in the last 4 years. This is the time for him to overcome himself. He can make it. Don't you see him looking much calmer in the Kiss and Cry, and his answers in the press conference. He has grown up. Even Misha Ge tweeted about that.

People SHOULD BELIEVE IN HANYU. Think positively! Send him good vibes.

Anyway, here is the fancam of the SP from row 1: https://youtu.be/aDQBMa8QkZU

What worries me is Hanyu's stamina for the free skate. Do we know if he's been practicing hard or working on his stamina with Orser. I think it will come down to that and if he executes his jumps.

I'm just afraid of Boston 2016 Worlds redux, where Yuzu had it in the SP and then lost it in LP to Javier. Saw it live and was traumatized.

I feel like he is really calm and relaxed. I see only 1 outcome. Yuzuru Hanyu 2 Time Olympic Gold Medalist!

I don't think he has stamina issues. Orser was wasying he was doing a lot of off ice training when he was not skating.

I hope he goes into free skate with the feelings from Boston, and gets glorious Seimei.

Unfortunately I think he's gonna go for 5 quads

This maybe shouldn’t be here but just a thought, I think Brian has proved to everyone and himself that he is WAY beyond a competent skating coach.

Yeah, IMO Brian is now GOAT of figure skating coaches.

I think Brian also deserves a lot of credit for helping Yuzu recover from the injury. Yuzu got injured at such a critical time and I think it's a testament to both Yuzu's own strength and also great coaching that Yuzu was able to stay calm and not get depressed, and also physically recover and get back his stamina and jumps at the proper pace.

I'm nervous because memories of Boston still haunt me. I know, I know, not really comparable situation health-wise, but still. I'll just settle for wishing this insanely talented skater a lot of luck, a calm mind, trust in his training like Brian says, and no overthinking. The rest is up to fate.   But oh, how glorious it would be if he managed to repeat... Virtual hugs to the team around Yuzuru too, I don't know how they manage this level of anxiety, and I'm glad right now I'm not in their shoes... sorry, babbling, should go to sleep now. One last ganbatte for Yuzuru! :slink:
