(although I think Origin is perfect as is)

BTW I have always wondered were the costumes from his 15-16 year old days on CWW the exact same one from the past - because when you look at those compare videos of Yuzu's CWW performance to the original one, he visually look like he has grown a lot, but if I look up his past physical data, he hasn't actually grown much at all. So maybe he does still fit in those costumes without alteration. It is almost like puberty never hit him and he is frozen in age since he was 17. I always find it funny when I look at past photos of him with say 15 year old Shoma, Nathan or Boyang - Yuzu has not changed at all, but the other boys at least have grown two heads.

If I were to nitpick, the skin color part of Origin is a little off in some photos I’ve seen. Not sure how it looks in real life though.

My impression from watching old programs is that I think Yuzu did have a growth spurt but just earlier, right around when he was 13-15? And after that it’s more of gaining muscle mass and perhaps a few cm rather than a height spurt.

If he still fits into the original R&J1 and Etude, then pretty much every woman in the world would justifiably envy him....

(And oh god, did he look good rewearing Etude or what????)

Etude is by far my favourite costume and one that appeared too early in his career...Imagine Etude costume instead for Otonal, especially when it was based off Otonal to start with.

I tried to look at old data and he was 170cm in 2012, and 53kg and 171 cm during Sochi and 172cm and 57kg for the Olympic this year. So he barely grew at all after he went to TCC :drama: So no surprise he probably do fit the original R&J1 and Etude - it is now more figure hugging and not too loose as they looked back in 2011.

I can't seem to find a thread for Yuzu's 2010-2011 season, does anyone know what happened to it? It's starange that even 2009-2010 thread exists but nothing for Yuzu's first senior season..

Love the shades of Etude and thought it looked good on him.
It was a striking costume and memorable for me.
It was just that he was still a baby back then it made him look uwu rather than fierce.
But when he wore is at CiONTU yeah he looked fierce. But I kinda miss his chubby cheeks.

I think there were two fan threads... when Yuzu was a junior there was a short one that soon got buried, and then a new thread was started in 2011 --that one was continuous until now.

Internally screaming after seeing this tweet.
Honestly even with words Yuzu is so dramatic

Fast forward to present, we all know who everyone wants to beat now.
That what I love about him. He honest about winning and who he wants to beat and how to beat them but at the same time he doesn’t downplay his opponent skills. He give them the respect they deserve... he just going beat them, that’s all. 😂

And rather than look for externals to blame any 'defeat' on (quote marks because while for Yuzu silver may be a defeat... most reasonable folk would be thrilled and pretty much ANY of his) he studies and learns from it, and from the performance that beat him. And them goes out and bears them...

And talking about respect, I always loved the way he would pointedly talk up Javi's and Boyang's achievements and qualities, especially when the press were downplaying them, and mention other skaters like Jason when he thought they were not getting their due credit.

https://twitter.com/yuzuru1207hanyu/status/1048786817812578305 A little clip of Yuzu today on CS TV Asahi, Yuzu's theme for this season is 'Zenryoku' -All one's power, which is something he has kept as a core since he was small and has been most important to him. He wants to always continue to give full power from now on.

This is for the Grand Prix Series, all the skaters are giving their theme and there's a little recap about each of them.

From Kyodo News:

In a video message, Japan's two-time men's Olympic gold medalist Yuzuru Hanyu revealed that his season's goal is to go at "full power." "That is in my roots, and what I consider the most important," said Hanyu, who became the first men's back-to-back Olympic champion in 66 years in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in February. In September, Hanyu won the Autumn Classic International, an ISU Challenger Series event held ahead of the Grand Prix season. He will begin his ISU Grand Prix campaign in Helsinki on Nov. 2.

I don't remember Yuzuru not being at "full power", he is always "full power" even in the ice shows

Now I am curious of his definition of full power.
Just make sure not to over do it Yuzu.

Looks like this is the seaon of major "Shu-Pa" exhibitions, I wonder if will mouth it out randomly in his next competitions. :luv17:

well, given that what he gave us at the Olympics obviously didn't quite meet his exacting standards... :eeking:
