https://twitter.com/__pino_____/status/1110884965590269952 This is the link of the various Yuzu video clips aired on todays show about Heisei sports. Some old, some we've seen before but here and there are little bits that I hadn't seen yet from when he had his first long interview. It's nice to have them all together.

I really have a feeling Yuzu is trolling on line with a very private account. Maybe he is one of those accounts who never post anything but has one just to access things.
I love seeing young Yuzu being vocal about his dreams. It just so nice to see someone living their dream.
Makes me feel the world can be wonderful isn't it? Even for just a moment.

This is the review of Men's in WC by Takeshi Honda in the local newspaper, here is short excerpt.

"Hanyu in Men's, his mistake on 4S in SP was huge, but he had great concentration, spirit, shifting into gear when he wanted to win. He had something more emotionally hit than Chen. Hanyu looked like he had changed his landing form on his jumps. In the past, he was landing on his toe to absorb the impact, but his ankle has been loosen after many sprains. If he lands on toe, he has chance to twist his ankle with less muscle around it. But I felt he was landing on the sole (in WC), using almost a half of the blade."

I feel I need to explain about my translation here, I think Honda meant not only 4S but also overall jumps Yuzuru did in WC (I tried to mean it by writing "jumps", but I'm sorry if I made you confused). So basically Honda is saying Yuzuru's landings were looked different and maybe changed for protecting his ankle. But he doesn't say about Yuzuru doing it intentionally or unintentionally. At least, that is my take and nuance from this short article.

Olympics IOC Executive Board Meeting -Press briefing with Christian Klaue

"What I can tell you also is that Yuzuru Hanyu is the biggest star of the Olympic Channel, not just in Japan but everywhere. I would like to single out figure skating as a very special case of increased traffic, we don't even have the rights to figure skating, but there is huge following there, amongst other things based on the star quality of Yuzuru".

Whoa at Yuzu not only getting getting a nod from IOC executives as the main source of the increased popularity of figure skating, but also the biggest star amongst sports and around the world.

They worked it out a damn sight faster than the skating authorities. Yuzu simply is on another plane (or planet) where fannish love and popularity is concerned. I believe he would be hugely loved is pretty much any sporting (or maybe even public) field... he's not only the complete package on the ice, he is in himself, his star quality, his personality, his ability to connect on and off the ice... everything.

JSF, are you listening to them? More flower girls and boys in the competition next time, OK? :shock2:

Unpopular opinion, but I would say only one GP, maybe Canada or NHK?

I also guess one challenger series competition, the Nationals and WC in the next season.

I agree that he has to reduce the number of times he competes, first for avoiding injuries and second for marketing reasons  He has to be the "rare item" that organizers fight over

--It's not like there's any lack of young skaters who would LOVE to be a flower girl/boy and get a front seat to a major competition. They could have invited 2x as many kids to pick up the toys and they would have had the time of their life.

I don't think competing less can avoid any injuries when skaters practise intensely everyday. Actually, during competitions ice time is much shorter. And when skater skips only one of GP events, it usually means they get injuried and aren't ready.

Well, yeah, that makes sense

After playing the statement of the IOC executives for multiple times what can I say? Hanyuconomy is evidently spreading out of Japan.
Our cryptid overlord is probably very flattered inside his cave.
He might not be sns savvy but I am sure someone in TCC is and they would definetly tell him.

I would say SC and NHK. I find it very unlikely that he won't be host picked for NHK and given that, the others may be too close to NHK and then the GPF.

I had the same thought too but it seems NHK is right during Yale’s break... How does it work out between the skater’s pick and the hosts’ pick? I assume Japan would prefer to have Yuzuru but in this case, whose choice would take the precedence? World champ or the host?

Well, if they were trying to ban Poohs/restrict the storm in Saitama... that really worked for them. Not.
