I wanted so badly for him to get a world record, and on NBC Gold, the commentator said toward the end that it might be close to one. I thought, "WHAT!? If there's any justice left in figure skating, that will be at least 111 or 112!" and prayed hard. AND A WELL-DESERVED WORLD RECORD IT WAS! I miiiight have printed a giant copy of the protocol at work...

But during the competition, I might or might not have looked at the GOE on the 4S and shouted, "Who's the chump who gave him a 4!?" at the screen, then shouted, "AGAIN!?" at the GOE on the 4T3T... Adding to the chorus of "just what do they want him to do for all 5s?"

And him picking up the Pooh bears, ahhhhhh, I lack the verbal skills to comment on that without lapsing into Japanese otaku slang. Since a few of you will at least mostly understand, I'll do it anyway. ああああああああ無理だ萌え死ぬ。ゆづ君なんて王子様でしょ！！

As for no 5's, maybe if he was planning a 4 lutz instead or was doing them to new programs? I do wonder if that plays into it some way.

That skate was so glorious. Yuzuru’s skating makes me forget I’m watching a competition. When he skates like that he casts a spell.

Also- I thought it was really endearing how he yelled ‘go Jason’ before going backstage. I love how these skaters support each other.

Seoul. The two time Olympic Figure Skating Champion Yuzuru Hanyu is shifting the limits in his discipline more and more. The winner of the gold medal of 2014 and 2018 set a new world record in the short program with 111,82 points at the Four Continents Championship in Seoul on Friday. The 25 year old improved his old best score from the year 2015 (110,95) narrowly by one point. Hanyu is leading his competitors by a huge margin.

Only managed to watch SP now. Originally questioned his decision to go to the old programs for the umpteenth time, but seeing the program, never realised what a privilege it is to experience them again. Truly a sight of wonder.

Yuzu was so gorgeous in the SP. Just perfection. I’m not like, angry about it but I do think he deserved 49+ PCS for that skate. He’s not the only one who I felt they held back a little on PCS so I guess these judges are just reluctant to give out 10’s.

All these reports of him drilling the 4Lz in practice have ratcheted up my anxiety x100 but I believe he can do it. It’s several hours until the FS and I’m already a ball of nerves. I’m gonna go watch Olympic & GPF 2015 Semei to calm myself
