Yuzuru Hanyu: 2019-2021

As naive as the thought is since Yuzuru will be his usual hard-working self, I hope he can rest a bit before the competition. Good luck to him. I hope he is - and leaves - healthy.
 
He said he was surprised program change was announced on ISU bio, but confirmed himself that he would skate Ballad and SEIMEI. He has many things he wants to say but can't make quick comments at the airport, but said he thought these two programs were the best for him at this moment, to be able to do his ideal figure skating.

^ He's a very perceptive and thoughtful young man, and I am positive he knows very well how much criticism his program choice has gained already, not just fom general fans but among his own fans as well. He probably has good reasons for resorting to these two programs, and I wouldn't be surprised if the driving force here is a strong focus on results at any cost, and on the cleanness of the jumps. But I wonder to what extent he himself is eager to tackle new music at this stage of his career, if he feels any drive in that direction.
I guess we'l know more soon, when he's rested enough to give an in-depth interview.

According to this report, he was surrounded by tons of Korean media and fans at the airport. At first, he was planning to answer the reporters while he was walking to the car (he usually does that I think), but there were too many confusions so he couldn't do that. He changed his plan and decided to keep waking without Q&A saying "I am sorry, I will keep walking since it is dangerous here.", "Is everything alright?", "Please don't run. (to the fans)" and so on. He had to stop in front of the car because he was surrounded all the time after all and made the comments about music change there. It reported that Yuzuru was very calm even in that situation.

Thank you yude for your support. I try to calm down and when my mind goes adrift I put my notes away and take a brake. I'm always scared to not do enough and I see that this is similar to Yuzu. It's some kind of perfectionism and sometimes it stands in our way ^^°. So I try to focus on what I can. In this case figure skating is different from passing an exam. I just want to pass and the points I receive don't matter. We don't have grades so it's just passing or failing. For Yuzu it might also be "first or not" (pass or fail) but I think he also wants to have high scores. But I'm not him so we actually really might stuck in the same situation right now @ . @.
 
Judging from all the media photos that have come out of the airport arrival, there is just such a big and messy crowd of media and fans in the airport. Please people, we are in the middle of an epidemic! avoid close contacts.
 
Thank you Yuzuru for allowing us to see you smile while hiding behind Brian and with the mask on! I am somehow calmer :)
 
Yuzu stood there quite comfortably but seeing the interviewers in padded coats and everything I wonder why he went out there without putting anything on...except his thin sports jacket >.<.
