Yuzuru Hanyu

Eight years ago, on June 8th 2018, Yuzuru Hanyu was receiveing a Japan Olympic Committee Award:

Melos Magazine reported his speech on this occasion:

It's not a big anniversary but I would like to write, for those who haven't followed Yuzuru Hanyu for long, or who simply don't know, that while the Japan Skating Federation has always been rather if not very hostile to Yuzuru Hanyu for diverse reasons (starting from his not being from a powerful region), the Japanese Olympic Committee was very helpful to him; and particularly, funded his studies abroad, in Toronto, after his Four Continents medal at 16 and his World Medal at 17 had shown them that he was extremely promising.
Today alas, the Japanese Olympic Committee is headed by a person who has always been extremely hostile to Yuzuru Hanyu (and abusive to other athletes).

The Couture on Ice account has posted a new brief video of the shooting of the Photo Book:

Yuzuru Hanyu's positions and moves in this video, seems to have triggered a debate about his hip joints; well, I would say, they're extremely flexible because he has the potential and has never ceased to train it, AND he has "muscles everywhere", not only those one may think about as useful for a skater, he trains all that can help his motility.
This fan upped this Aqua commercial making-of for another reason (the Aqua Fair in Fukuoka) but there are several extracts from his floor practice and we can see some of this training:

PR Times and Oshiraku reported about the reprint of Couture on Ice, and that it can now be preordered from some online bookstores:

Here's the article:

I wonder if this double-faced clear file showing Knight of the White Peacock on one side, and Moonlight Sonata on the other, is going to be a bonus with one of the books?

Also, regarding the Couture on Ice series of books, I'm now under the impression that Concept and Question of Couture on Ice, and the Making of Couture on Ice, are two different books:

From various sources, June 9th was Rock Day in Japan:

To many fans, as well as to NekoMasamune, this evokes Let Me Entertain You, here at 2021 World Team Trophy with Yuzuru Hanyu's (in) famous 3A Illusion save:

Yuzuru visited Wajima City, met the elderly ladies we met before and shopped at the market there!!!:clap::clap:
Local TV aired a little clip :)

He's accompanied by the three Ladies from the Wajima Street Market he had discussed with, and who came to Sendai for a special Noto Market some time ago! I'm happy that they seem to be doing fine!
I suppose that we'll have a follow-up News Every broadcast later this month, or next month. :fun:

And here's another bit from today's news from Wajima City with Yuzu speaking (translated);

This year, it will be possible to buy online the badge of the rice field art:

As the volunteers clip them by hand, one after the other, I'm afraid that it may sell out fast.

Tomorrow on NHK One, there will be a collaboration between Yuzuru Hanyu and the Yuzu band, on their song Ikuju!

Of course, NHK is reporting:

But also their concurrent TV Asahi:

Figure Hochi/Icelink and Kiss & Cry have more photos:

I'm still trying to catch up with fanart...
I can't resist animations, and these days, there were two beautiful ones, the first one about the latest Menship Radio:

The second is REALIVE-inspired, it's a continuous trend:

May 29th also seemed to be the start of a trend (or of my seeing a trend) of fanart inspired by old Nishikawa bedding commercials:

Another version of this trend has plushes instead of pillows:

Here's the rice field art, twelve days after planting, one can discern very well the lines and shapes now:
