In the last year's ladies competiton, I remember judges suddenly became severe with UR or edge error calls after SPs.
Satoko may be given UR call in FP even she rotates more than today's 3F. of course I don't talk this kind of story as a conspiracy or not. just I remember last year now.

There is joy in immaturity. I love excuse to not have to act my age. Hell, I think bars should have McDonald style ball pen obstacle courses!

Or an Ikea ball pit. There isn't too many things that couldn't be improved by an Ikea ball pit. Like waiting in line at the dmv.

OMG, yes yes! I want an adult ball pit!! :cheer2:

Agreed, but Liza's going to jump her way past the current WRs, and possibly to the next 4 World Titles and the 2018 Gold. Lawd.

At this rate, yeah she will. I expect next season the 3A will likely be a staple in her SP and she'll probably add one to the FS for good measure. The fact that she does not have issues with edge calls or UR and that she's very consistent and competitive minded means Liza T will probably be unbeatable for a good while. Lots of Russian hip rolls and blown kisses in our future!

I'd love to see her improve many aspects of her skating (better SS, more TR, stronger spins, more versatility in her style, more intricate/complex choreo) but as long as she's hitting 3As like that, I doubt if she'll need to. Everyone else OTOH will have to step it up yet again. There's not much anyone can do to compete with a 3A though. Improvements can be made to get closer to Liza T but that 3A makes her nearly untouchable...

Thank you Sam, the Flip is definitely pre-rotated. I have screenshot frame by frame. Like this: http://www.mediafire.com/view/8o6bb7b8g6i69zk/Satoko 3073.jpg
And even if the panel is lenient (too lenient), there should be Zero GOE on all of those jumps.

That's how I feel for the most part. It's hard to tell through edited pictures and videos even because its hard to define an exact moment when the jump is actually "alive". I think it's a collection of movements that ultimately equal what defines a jump. Not just an edge, amount of per-rotation, air position, etc.. That's why I don't mind a caller going a bit lenient and I think Satoko really did improve her jumps from 4CC. I don't understand where any bullets for positive GOE are found and feel her jumps can squeak by enough for the full BV and that should be plenty. To me a +2 jump should really excel in a few areas and seeing a jump that doesn't excell in any areas get a +1 nearly across the board kind of cheapens the whole point of GOE.

My solution is simply less harsh penalties from tech panels and but more strict calling combined with a tightening up on GOE being given out.

If the tech panel had the same views I had then I can see why there isn't enough evidence to ding her jumps yesterday. In fact I was hoping my video would have the same effect as the last one only in a positive direction.

I think if I could offer my scores as a judge I'd put a few skaters ahead of Satoko but even then...you'd still have to factor in eight other judges scores so that's pretty useless to consider as anything more than conjecture. It's becoming clear that we've entered an era where the most important thing by a long shot is jump technique. Since Satoko is on a good edge she can trump far superior jumps like So Youn's 3s-3t and score even higher than Liza's 3t-3t executed perfectly.

Just finished watching some videos.

Thrilled for Liza!! Even though I am Radionova's fan through and through, Liza was just so solid, and that was a beautiful triple A!!! Yeah, she is going to be unbeatable. I don't know how the other ladies are going to change their training/routines to keep up, but the next few years should be interesting (hopefully), and not just watching Liza win competition after competition.

I felt so bad for Anna after her program...her coach seems like the most disinterested, cold person...I just can't imagine what it would be like to come off the ice, after a fall, and get such a cold reception from MY COACH of all people. I sense some friction between Anna and her too...it can't just be something viewers are making up.

Yes it's not that high praise. She needs to up her game too.

I agree Polina needs to up her game too if she really wants to beat the Russians. Polina at least beat the Japanese skaters at the 4CC. :) Like what most have been saying, she really needs to do something with her flip jump. The ! call caused to miss the top 6 placement. :( I don't know what she can do in trying to improve her PCS scores. I don't know why she's scored lower in PCS this season than last year's Worlds when she's doing better this year.

Maybe if they're able to, her team can ask the judges what else they can do to maximize her PCS scores. I hope next season her team will chose programs that will be able the hearts of the judges and the audience. Something fun like her SP last year. I really like her programs' music from last season better specially her SP which really showcased her personality and she looked like she was having a lot of fun.

I hope and pray that Polina, Gracie and Ashley will try to fight harder in the long program and move up knowing they need to keep the 3 spots for next year. So sad for Ashley's SP. :( I thought she had the best chance to get a medal among the US Ladies before she skated her SP.

I'm going to pull hard for the Americans because there needs to be a third spot for Mariah Bell to steal next year. :p

HA. I just noticed the icenetwork headline "Tuktamesheva's Triple Axel Threatens to Turn Ladies Event Into Laughter" ...That's not the nicest way to put it. But she certainly made waves! Love love love it.

If it were me, UR on the FLIP, zero GOE on both 3-3 and 2A.

Flip is definitely UR! Like my prediction on Yulia before, Satoko will lose her triples next year if she can't take care the UR and Pre-rotation problems. This is basic in Physics

That's pretty harsh. I get what he's saying, but that's a really nasty way to say it. He could have said the attack was there, but the program needs refinement. To say it didn't have an ounce of beauty is just mean (IMO).

I agree with you.

That's not a very fun prediction considering your name;) I thought my video actually showed Satoko's jumps improved a bit from the 4CC. Plus she has improved a lot from the 2012-13 season where she would get 3z<-3t< with an e

Lets wait until Yulia comes back before we count her out. Remember Liza last year was stinking it up. No need to pile on skaters when they struggle. There is a difference between losing your jumps and having a rough season. A little optimism can be quite fun too ;)

About Anna's fall, it was quite nasty. I had a similar fall, while doing a much simpler movement on ice, and I ended with a black eye. Maybe my hit was a couple centimetres closer to the face, as I hit my lateral forehead, above the end of the right eyebrow. So I hope there is no concussion and no black eye for Anna. I am so sorry for her. She is my favourite Russian skater after Julia.

Guys, Please keep it up discussing the 2015 Worlds Ladies SP. Please don't discuss other competitions or skaters who were not at this competition. Posts not on topic will be unapproved, so please do not post them.

you need to compare with other skaters. I remember Mao does her jumps same way as Satoko. I don't think many female skaters just jump straight up and then rotate their jumps.
I am glad you are not a tech caller or specialist.
Tada, you finally admit it huh.
And Mao always got called, while Satoko not.
I'd say Shin Amano is not consistent. Why he called Mao's jumps, but not Satoko????? :laugh2:
