Dear Members. During the first day of competitions at the Olympics we have noticed that many posters are completely forgetting that these are competition threads, as for actual skaters competing. They are not threads to express with whom you have an axe to grind, to express your political opinions, your issues about doping allegations, any issues you may have with certain countries or people, your opinion about cheating or not, disparaging comments about people experiencing mental health issues, and/or any xenophobic or homophobic opinions you wish to express. Such posts are contrary to forum guidelines in general but are especially off putting in competition threads. Please focus on what is happening on the ice.

Posts which contain such sentiments derail the thread and take the joy out of taking part in these threads for other posters who join in to enjoy the experience of watching a Figure Skating competition with like minded posters. The moderators are free to delete all such posts without warning, and will do so if this continues.

Setting aside the ongoing controversy, this is going to be fun to watch. Who from the early groups will establish a lengthy "slay count"? Anatasia Gubanova, Mariah Bell and Madeline Schizas go right together in group 2, while Wakaba Higuchi (and Alysa Liu?) could have "legs" in group 3

I hope to arise before 5 a.m EST and get it all in (except for a well-timed kitty litter pan cleaning occurring somewhere during the final flight).

I’m going to go in with an optimistic mind and enjoy the skating I see. And be happy to have something to go home and watch the replay of tomorrow when I get home from work.
I plan on DVR-ing the entire Ladies Event. I don't think my heart could take seeing it live. I'll need the FF command to quickly move past the sections where controversy might ensue.;)

Higuchi and Liu are in Group 4 :) (of 5).

But I get your drift.

Finally, the main event of every Winter Olympics can begin and we find out who Zagitova will pass the crown too.

Hope the winner can have as much success post Olympics that Zagitova had (in terms of exposure and monetization of her success).

Besides Kamila and Anna (and never count Anna out), I want to see bundle of sunshine Kaori, Loena, Mikutina and am curious to see what effect (if any) Liu’s late coaching change had.

But, living on the east coast of the USA, the timing of this sucks. 5am. Awful. I’m of Mediterranean decent, 5am is not a time for waking up. Haha

It worse for central, mountain, and pacific time. I think I’m going to sleep through the first group and part of the second and get up at 5 (central time). I get up at 6 usually for work anyways.

I'm on vacation this week. Even so the competitions will be very early. I will see from the fourth warm-up and later in replay the entire event.

Kailani Craine: I know that she is not going to win a medal but it will always be a visual pleasure to see her skate. 😍

Shurik: the time has come. She should replace triple Axel with a double one but her stubbornness will deprive her of the Olympic Silver. I hope there are no surprises like in the World Championship, no broken cascade. With every jump she makes my heart stops, I think she's going to make me diabetic.

5an EST? Lol.

What channel? NBC or one of their cable companies?

I'm hoping Nastia is actually rebuilding her her career after coming off the scrap heap this season. She is doing well this season even if the scores don't indicate it. I hope we will see her scores especially her PCS scores should jump off next season. Good luck to Nastia and everyone else. I am shocked Mariah ell is skating right after Nastiain group 2. I thought she would be in the final group or the 2nd to final group.

Any idea when the 3 amigettes KV Sasha and Anna will be skating? 8ish EST?
