It's nice to see skaters continuing their education and being competitive. I hope Emily can get it together this season. She's one of my favorites, and a really nice person.

The Midlantics (Sept 11-14) competitor list has been released, and Emily Hughes is on it. Now it remains to be seen if she will actually compete.

Will she do an old LP? I just want to see her skate to something.According to the schedule, Emily is going to do the SP on Friday at 4:15.
She's not doing her new LP.
Is she ill or injured? She's pulled out of the Sept 6 show hosted by Michael Weiss which may raise a question or two about her fitness at this point. I hope she recovers soon and has a good season.
The competitor list only lists the skaters' first event, so she likely registered for both the SP (last year's "I've Got Rhythm") and FS ("Gone with the Wind"). We'll have to wait and see if she ends up competing.According to the schedule, Emily is going to do the SP on Friday at 4:15.

I just started a separate thread for the Mid-Atlantics club competition in NYC: http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23658
Emily skated the SP at Midlantics yesterday and it wasn't pretty. She underrotated and put both hands down on a 3F attempt, then did only a 2S/2T combination. She was 3rd in the SP with 44 and change.
I thought once an event was assigned to a skater, that's it and the skater is obligated to compete at that event.
Besides, who would replace her?
"So, what would happen if Katrina goes to Regionals, doesn't skate all that well and finishes fifth, therefore not qualifying for Nationals? Would USFS still send her to her two GPs knowing she won't even get to skate at Nationals? Or would they withdraw her?
