[Regarding the 4T]
To be honest, my condition today was not bad. If I had placed my quad in the beginning like usual, I would have been able to execute it. To train the 4T as the first jump is easy, but there are so many conditions that must happen in order to train a 4T that happens in the second half. From this performance and the practices that will take place, I need to carefully reflect on it and make adjustments and preparations for my condition in order to take on tomorrow.
[Regarding Motivation]
I’ve been asked this question a lot of times, and it’s really hard to retain motivation. However, I don’t personally think that this is so, and I never think that I’ve already won anything. My own motivation will not deteriorate.
[Regarding Injury]
It didn’t affect my performance. Today’s faults were all attributed to my lack of concentration.
[Perhaps He Was too Focused]
This I’ll just leave it at that… The music’s rhythm is quite slow, so I do require a lot of concentration, but I also can’t let the slow rhythm get in the ways of my jumps. Today’s 3A was still very stable, and was also close to perfect.
, alas the prince looked disappointed with himself :scowl:.Just watched Yuzuru's SP. Well to begin. I have to say I absolutely love this program. Unfortunately the jumps weren't there today, though his 3A was a thing of beauty like always and in general he was a bit off. But well hope he does great in the free

He will do better tomorrow for sure. I am not sure if he will land all 3 quads, but if he will do 2 of them and rest of program he will be fine.
SP is beatifull and if he will do it fully perfect it will be something
And 3A from spread to spread was justIt totally deserved +3 trough the board
That is good, I must have missed it.He did!! Just really, really short
Edit: in the longer version from japanese tv you can see it at 0:15

Yes, Nobunari and Sano-san praised his 3A sandwitched by two eagles. It got GOE of "3".
It was perfetly beautiful.

Nobunari said the cause of the failure of 4T was just the timing. It is difficult to do a quad jump in the latter half because it is difficult to take the timing comparing to the one placed in the beginning (other than the stamina, I think).
Nobu said laughing that Yuzuru would do the simulation to take the timing very hard after this, just like the one you see Yuzuru usually does before the program, making the rotation axis with his arms pulling swiftly "Gyu!". Nobu was very sure because of Yuzuru's character "Makezugirai", hate to lose
Anyway, Yuzuru's long grogram after a failed SP. Something might happen![]()
I don't know if it is a joke or no
Yuzuru seems very, very angry to himself

That was the first thing I noticed was missing at the start....is it due to the reduce timing to 30seconds?
I should hope not. And remarkable that Yuzuru also thought of the "repercussion" of his underperformance on his coach's reputation.
Anyway, I am sure he will come back with a "fighting" performance in the free as befitting his Olympic and Worlds pedigree. Ganbatte Yuzuru!

I still haven't watched the men's event... When I saw the news this morning, I couldn't believe it. Yuzuru placing behind Kovtun--and Kovtun wasn't even clean?! I had my doubts about this layout, but I didn't want them confirmed.![]()
I will comfort myself with the knowledge that 1) Hanyu has a history of fighting back in the free (2014 Worlds) 2) Even if he loses the GP, it's not a big deal (well, it is a big deal in Japan, since they won't create history by sweeping the first three events). He lost both his GPs last season, only to win everything else.
I just hope he will do 4T combo in 1st half to not risk so much with the 3rd one, it's anyway risk putting 3rd quad there
He can do many great things, he could maybe go perfectly clean today if not that 4T in 2nd half. And for what ? For just making things difficult for himself :disapp:Totally agree. When I looked at the score I didn't want to watch his SP again. But then I gather myself to watch it again. And I have to say it is beautiful. He skated with unbelievable lightness!! Even the pop quad was smooth. The luzt is not much but overall very elegant. I can see a lot of potential.Even with those two mistakes and how he had a hard time catching up to the music at the end, it was still a decent performance. At first I thought everyone meant he did a fall-splat on his last two jumps and I began to cringe when that quad was coming up. Honestly, these mistakes are actually more pleasing to the eyes than a fall-splat.
