Maybe I just don't follow sports enough to understand why it's such a big deal... but medal ceremony doesn't bug me. She's a girl who's upset at herself about a disastrous program. I can see why she'd want to hide out/would completely forget the medal ceremony. Also, I suspect that at the moment she didn't realize how it would be seen--it's not like she skipped the medal ceremony for Worlds. Of course GP silver is a huge achievement for 99% of skaters out there, but considering the pressure Yulia's under, and all her achievements, she probably forgot that in the moment. Yulia's just so darn perfect most of the time that a genuine meltdown probably shocked her.
I agree. Still, not a good thing to not partecipate. Not a big deal either.
I don't think it's because she didn't win. She didn't win in the Olympics and Worlds and was not like that.
She won CoR but cried and said in the press conference that she skated bad. Almost suggesting that she didn't deserved the victory.
Never seen a skater so harsh towards herself as her.
As a Liza fan, would I have wanted to see them on the podium together? Of course! But I'll take the positives out of this: Liza has her gold, and Yulia can learn from this experience. Hopefully they'll both grow stronger, and we'll see them on the podium together at many events in the future.
I'm glad about Liza. She skated very well.
How is the situation with the GP's now and the candidates? Liza is the first confirmed, the rest how are they?
