Han Yan & Yuzuru Hanyu health updates

Yes, he was released from the hospital and photos were taken of him in a wheelchair, smiling. He seems ok, but will be checked out completely when he gets to Japan.

What on earth is wrong with the Chinese organizers that they have no doctor on sight and those boys obviously injured? :disapp: This is a complete embarrassment for those affiliated CoC.

But is it OK to flight so soon after a concussion? If I remember correctly, the doctor's don't recommend it and it can make the symptoms even worse.

More update - from another TV sports news program. After he got stitched (and his cut on the right side of the forehead got stapled (??? they say it wasn't large enough of a cut to be stitched?) Yuzu did not go onto the ambulance. He went back to the hotel to rest. He will return to Japan to get treatment tomorrow. They also asked about his back or left leg which seemed hurt, but since Yuzu's collision was such a big bang that he doesn't know where he is wounded at the moment.
so he didn't go to the hospital????

Hm.. I really can not imagine him not properly going to the hospital... And most ambulances do not have a wheelchair in them for him to have been in, so where could they have gotten that? Perhaps it is a mistranslation, or they meant he did not return/stay in the hospital, or even that he was supposed to get transferred to another one. It doesn't make sense tbh. Could he have been seen at some sort of walk-in clinic instead? Then perhaps the plan was to go to a hospital....? :ohwell:

What is wrong with this thread? Do people suffer from concussion too or are reading comprehension skills not taught at school anymore?
I came to find news about my favorite skaters' health but... :slink: :bang: same old same old.

Perhaps it would be better if the other thread were moved from CoC to The Edge as well. Many posters only come here to the Edge and don't bother with the other subforums. While I understand there is a link in the first post many people also just skim and/or go to the most recent posts. I think if both threads were here in the main forum (or if this one had also been posted in CoC) the result might be slightly better in keeping them separate. I'm frankly not surprised that what seems to be the 'main' thread about this in the 'main' forum is getting the most action. What could you possibly expect?

I will be keeping both of them in my prayers tonight.

And I'm confused by Orser saying Hanyu was briefly unconscious but didn't have signs of a concussion. I was taught in First Aid and attended a concussion seminar and in both cases the standard was if you lose consciousness you automatically have a concussion. You can get a concussion without losing consciousness but not the other way around.

I am confused about that as well. The Japanese TV cameras basically followed Hanyu until a minute before he came back to the rink all bandaged up, and in that time he did not pass out. Maybe he refers to when he stepped off the ice right after the accident, when he was held up and looked 'out of it'.
Unless Orser was misquoted.

I am too. I taped this on my wrist to show support for him http://instagram.com/p/vJi05KMTuV/ And I prayed so hard he'll be okay.

They probably lost consciousness when they got off the ice. Yuzuru probably when he was on the chair and Han when he was on the floor...The staff was blocking the camera so we didn't get a complete view of either one of them.

Yes perhaps that could be done. I have linked to the other thread on nearly every page of this thread though & there certainly have been a ton of users in the CoC section as of late judging by all the activity going on there. There have actually been more people viewing the GP section of the forum than the The Edge throughout today. I think some people just don't read anything. How do I go about asking for it to be moved

That was so intense and shocking. I couldn't believe what happened at first!!. I hope both of them are OK now. jeez.

Having said that, scores were also kinda shocking. Hanyu failed 5 jumps out of 8, and he got 75 for TES, jeez

I hope these collisions never happen to anyone.

This thread is to update about Yuzuru and Han Yan condition. Anyways he earned that TES by rules. If anything change the rules and stop making a fuss here.

Anyways according some sources Yuzuru has been back to Japan. There's no news about medical examination yet. I hope he will get checked throughly.

Has Han Yan received his test results yet??

Even skaters didn't went to check him, he was down on ice for a while and others were jumping around, really, maybe they didn't saw him, I don't know..... ? :disapp:
Is it about Han and Yuzuru health updates? Obviously not. If you want to blame someone other that the skater, his team, JSF and event management, then other skaters must be the last on your list. Have you ever seen a soccer player helping his injuried teammate? Never. They are instructed not to. One wrong move and the things can get much worse. The medical help of all kinds must be only professional. It's not for discussion. The question why the proper medical service wasn't provided belongs to that other thread as I assume.
