Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Well... Looks like no flight today for me. Delays due to too much wind from the wrong direction at Barcelona! Apparently planes cannot land?

So sorry to hear that! I have flight on Friday and I don't need surprises :( I wish you safe trip!

Yuzuru has been on his way to GPF. ANA gave him a cake: http://yuzulist.tumblr.com/post/104747939289/message-via-anas-twitter-ana

Is it just me or he looks so tired here? Worried again.

I'm not sure what to feel about that sketch of him on the cake holding what looks like a gold medal. On one hand, it's encouraging, on the other hand...it may pressure him. I hope I'm the only one overthinking things.

And he does look tired, despite the bright smile. But then the daily schedule Brian set for him should have probably clued us in on this outcome when it was revealed. Hope he gets enough rest, shakes off the pressure, and just skate the best he can at the GPF!

The real situation is that this coachless kid is trying to overcome the worst injury of his whole careere by himself , in an almost coachless season, taking all the responsability on his shoulders, which are still pretty thin despite he's legally an adult now. This is quite worring and sad IMO.

we can only support YUZU massively !!!!!!!:cheer2:

I sincerely hope Yuzuru's flight isn't arriving in Barcelona today with thiese winds. Flying into Barcelona today is Not Fun.

I have flown many times, but this was the worst experience ever (and that is not counting the major delay!). The turbulence near the airport is scary as heck due to the strong winds, and in that turbulence, we made our descent... and at the last moment, suddenly ascended again, full speed into the air. Aborted landing due to the fact that there was another plane on the landing strip!
Yikes! And that in major turbulence.
Even the pilot admitted this was not the best day in his career. :-/

Anyway, after this, the rest of the week can only go better, so I'm ready!
I need a good paella tonight to properly recover, though. *grin*

Glad you are ok

Non-chan and it seems that many other fans (according to Twitter) have just received Yuzuru's reply mail today: https://38.media.tumblr.com/70aa0195f78046ccf4bb22f11ecfc39b/tumblr_ngblbvRFM81rqryl2o1_1280.jpg
She said she sent him her letter in 2012!! WOW

It seems Yuzuru used his resting days at Sendai for this. Congrats to all the fans who have received his reply. :cheer:
Let's hope the best for him at GPF!

LOL i wrote one to him last November...sent it to the JSF headquarters in Toyko. Haha, will either probably never receive a response from Yuzuru or will receive one next year :P

Hope you are more relaxed now, I'm sorry to hear about the problems with your flight. It has been very windy today, there have been several accidents in other villages near BCN, but I've heard that the situation will be much better tomorrow. Have a good time!

I'm glad you are fine. Have a good rest! Hope you spend a great time in Barselona! Good luck to Yuzu!

GPF attendees are reporting skater sightings. Apparently Japanese team arrived at least 6 hours ago (so Tuesday afternoon in Barcelona?). Winds sound just awful!

^Echoing thanks to sonora! Much appreciated. Bet there's still enough material for Brian to write another book at least about coaching his talented wards.

Thanks to those who shared video links and the various birthday fan art/greetings for Yuzuru. I really hope Yuzuru gets to see them; they were all very beautiful and heartwarming, more so because of the evident love for him.

@Winne_20 and Poice and other Yuzuru fans in the GPF, wishing all of you a safe and wonderful experience in Barcelona with lots to post and share with us here on this thread. Hopefully our boy will skate to his potential and that we will see the fearlessness and passion of old as showcased in his beautiful programs.

Thanks for everyone' updates! So apparently Yuzuru already arrived in Barcelona... Hope he can have a successful outing at the GPF :cheer:

I think the pre-competition excitement is getting to me! I'm really excited for the GPF because all the good skaters are there to perform their programs, that's what counts most. :agree:

The precious one....there's must an angel playing with our hearts :points:

The video description: "I love this smile of the Olympic Champion Yuzuru Hanyu. Joy and happiness are emanating from his smile and his whole body. And it transmits the happiness and makes me smile.(^-^) As I wanted this happy smile to be transmitted to many others, I created this video clip. It's "smiles after smiles." Just like the song, it is as if angels are playing with his heart. I thank Yuzuru for such a great smile that transmits happiness.
When he is having a hard time, scared, nervous or can't believe in himself; I hope he will remember the source of this smile at the core of his being and believe in it. Because it will never change no matter what."

An interview with Matsuoka Shuzo-san aired Tuesday....http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2c5tqr_141209報ステ_sport

It took place after the NHK free (not sure why it's only being broadcast now; for the GPF?) He is brutally honest here IMHO and I think was definitely showing a side that we rarely see. Lots of revelation into what was going on in his head at the time when we were all so worried and speculation flew around like crazy. A hard interview to watch but at the same time it gave me so much hope about his future, both as a skater and as a person.

I am totally inept to translate this but it is definitely worth a watch I think.

I also just want to say that I owe so much to the generous and tireless fans who upload videos so promptly all the time. :)

Thanks for the nice messages. Of course, the weather should be fine again now, just very unlucky timing. Apparently three people died.
But I got my paella last night, so I'm good again. Yuzuru should try that stuff if he hasn't already, they do know how to prepare rice here! ;-)

I doubt I will spot any skaters, I am not in a hotel near the CCIB, and even if I were, I probably wouldn't recognize anyone even if they bumped into me. *blush* I'm not good with faces, hehe.
