2015 Winter Universiade

Come on Maria. Make your old man proud!

For goodness sake, you're making Kostya sound like her Dad! He's only 10 years older than her!

(Says the guy who's chasing after a girl 10 years younger than him...)

Hey, you just leave poor Maria out of it. She's a good girl. :agree:

Russian 1-2 anybody...?

CaroLiza_fan

:laugh2: She actually is good in invisiblespiral's fic! She's the story's heroine, the reasonable one to Kostya's vengeful voodoo master (over Maxim mostly). XD I just joked about it because Mae Berenice's score is very close to Maria's PB, and Roberta's.

I would love a Russian 1-2.

Oh, I meant it with affection. If anyone appreciates a silver fox, it's me! (never mind that he's younger than I am, so what does that make me...:hopelessness:)

OK, so I'm younger than Menshov, but only by a couple of years. But it really gets to me when these sorts of terms are used for Voronov (who is pretty much exactly 2 years younger than me) and Leonova (who is 5 years younger than me)

Surely they can't be Silver anything!

Back to the competition

Oh, Jaimee! You're making my eyes sore! Need sunglasses

She seemed very happy afterwards... until the scores came up.

And I don't blame her. I certainly wouldn't have put her below Yalovaia... or even anywhere near her!

On the other hand, the Turkish girl looked totally miserable after she came off the ice. And she had good reason to, as it turned out.

LAST PLACE

And, no disrespect to a girl from a country where figure skating is a VERY obscure sport, but I was expecting it to be low.

Well, the Mexican girl (Reyes, not Hamui) can find some comfort that somebody managed to go below her.

Well, this is the bizarro world of figure skating where 16- and 17-year-olds routinely get called "washed up" and "over with, "dunzo," etc. I strongly support older skaters, and I don't think anyone is done until they say they are done. I hope the irony is clear...and I'm rooting 100% for the mature ladies from St. Petersburg here! (is "mature" better?)

Totally agree with you on that, gallavich!

And Alena is certainly mature ;)

Oh, look at the Kiwi girl trying to take a selfie! (Hate that word!)

AND SHE QUALIFIES FOR THE FS!!!! WELL DONE ALEXANDRA!!! :cheer:

On the subject of maturity, is it just me or does the Kiwi girl look far too young to be 21?!

Like, that would almost qualify her to be over the hill!

And this is the first time I am sure any of us have seen her!

The Chinese couple had a lot of speed, and good points, but it was all a bit too busy for me.

I'll check in a moment if it is on tdp.

I'm afraid that the Free Dance is NOT being shown LIVE on tdp. They're showing indoor football.

HOWEVER, tdp will be showing highlights from 04:30 - 06:30 CET (03:30 - 05:30 GMT)

Hopefully somebody will put the videos on YouTube as, much as I would like to catch up on what I've missed, that is just a wee bit too early for me!

You know, when I was watching the Short Dance yesterday, I was thinking "There are some of these couples that it has been so long since I last seen then, that I didn't recognise them". And one of those couples was Kosygina / Moroshkin.

Well, today I wouldn't want to admit that I knew who they were. Those costumes were AWFUL!!!

The skating wasn't bad, though! ;)

He reminds me of Beetlejuice!!!

I was just watching pairs FP and I had a second window opened with ISU bios. And I noticed that Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres are not working with Stanislav Morozov. I think he was their coach during GP season and they were in Moscow practising with him. But now he is listed just as their former coach. Then I was watching SP and FP videos from europeans and realized he wasn't sitiing with them in the K&C. So does anybody know when, how or why their cooperation with Stanislav ended. I have no idea why I didn't noticed earlier.

It appears they were asked to leave Russia as the Russian Federation decided they didn't want French skaters training in Moscow any more.
International politics ;) .
At least they got some time in Russia and have benefited from that :)
