Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Or maybe he has been too focus on that 4S because he needs it to win over Patrick? If we're talking about the jump he hates the most then it's definitely the flip. He will never try the 4flip for sure.
I still think he might pull of the 4lz the season after the next, he doesn't hate the luzt jump, and he does practice 4lz.
I don't know about that 4A though... Max's attempt makes me feel nervous. It's too dangerous.

I think if he will get enough physical strength he will be able to do quad axel. Axel is his money jump. He can jump it from stand still. He has fast rotation. I think it is only matter of getting enough height . There was somewhere recently interview in which ORser said that he may be able to do it in future

I think he just likes the loop. Probably second to his favorite axel. :p That's the jump he always does in warm-up first, and he said its become such a habit for him to use the 3Lo to test the ice.
Also since its not really working out, he should try rearranging it. 4T (or 4T combo) first, then 4S. I mean..he really doesn't have much to lose  His 4S is such an anomaly to me lol.
Do you have any sources in which he said he liked the loop? I never see him do a 3-3 with loop in the combo. he dislike the flip but he's kinda consistent with it, and the height of his flip is very decent. His flip is higher than his loop.
And I don't think he dislikes the luzt. He put it in the end of his FS so he might find it comfortable enough. Maybe one day he will try the 4lz, in some competition with less pressure... To test it out.
I hope the 4S is because he focuses on it too much. Maybe he should relax a bit when it comes to the 4S.

He said he really enjoy doing quad loop, but Orser is letting him to practice it only from time to time

Nope just an assumption, but I think that one wouldn't constantly use a jump they didn't like?:laugh:

I've always thought that if someone from this generation of skaters can do a 4A, it would be Yuzuru. No one has a better 3A than him (maybe some are just as good like Han Yan or Denis Ten, but not better). If the 4A is possible, he could be among the first if not the first one to do it. But after seeing Aaron trying it I'm kind of concerned about the physical risk of that jump.

I only hope that Yuzuru will be healthy, because 4A or not, as long as he skates with passion, it's a gift for us.
Anyways here's a list of his inspirational quote. I didn't know his mother staying up late all night to make his costumes.

Edit: just found this video, Yuzuru when he was 14 in the first junior GP of season 2009-2010. That 3A at the beginning... :drama:http://youtu.be/8X52JYWnZsQ

It's so weird that he's not very comfortable with the 4S, when he hits it it's monstrous. And his 3loop is not as reliable as his 3S don't you think? Since he can jump the 3S from a standstill with no speed at all (WC 2014). It is very amusing that his 4lo might be more consistent than his 4S.

I remember seeing a video where Yuzuru mentioned the 3S being his nemesis (probably not his exact words). I believe it was during his speech after he was assigned to represent at Worlds 2012 (Japanese Nationals 2011?). Maybe he had a difficult time getting his 3S consistent as well? Was searching for a link but can't seem to find one right now...

That 3S was placed as the final jump of his Romeo 1.0, by that time it was his stamina that made him struggle with that 3S, not his technique IMO. He always ran out of gas by the end of his Romeo 1.0. The fact that he landed it cleanly (but tilled) at WC in Niece was a miracle.
I think with Yuzuru, aside from his 4S, all of his triple and quad toe are very much consistent, except when he's too exhausted to land them.
Ever since he moved to Orser, he has put the 3lz which is the more difficult (and more exhausting) jump as the last of his freeskate, which means his stamina has improved a lot.

It was his nemesis because it was his last jump of the program, and that was when he ran out of energy/stamina. It wasn't necessarily the jump itself, but moreso his physical limitations.

Thank you both. Was always wondering about that statement. I became a fan of Yuzuru's skating in 2012 and while viewing a lot of his past programs I never noticed him having an issue with his 3S. I figured it was due to my lack of knowledge regarding the sport.

Also, R&J 2.0 and POTO are more challenging technically than R&J 1.0, so even though Yuzuru has increased his stamina in the past 2 years, he's STILL going to be exhausted by the end of his FS. He just keeps upping his game!

:scowl: I love that he is ambitious but seriously I only want to see him healthy.
:disapp: and man, the 3luzt3T still troubles him now and then, but when he hits it, it's so beautiful. I guess lack of practice this season is the reason he has trouble with it. I hope he will find out the solution.
Anyways, on the bright side of looking up his old videos is that I have never seen any 14 years old boy with such a beautiful triple axel (yes maybe Plushy but his jumping style was too different). And his air position has always been "just to die for"! And that musicality at such a young age.

Yes, agree, right now all I want is for him to be healthy.

Yuzuru's air position is so beautiful - it's such a treat to watch him!

"Japanese Red Cross Society(JRCS) today pre-releases a new campaign for 311 earthquake reconstruction assistance. After almost four years after 311, the way to reconstruction is still far and need more help from public. Yuzu acts as a spokesman to urge people not to forget the disaster areas and ask for more help further. An official event is scheduled to launch on 11, March."

Does this mean he will not fly to Toronto? @_@ Since the official even is on 11th March!!!

i really hope he wont attend it, i know he wuld love to but he needs to be at canada already :bang: i know brian probably are busy with junior worlds but there are other people he needs to work with, Shae lynn is 1st in that list, i hope he is okay now and will be on his way to canada soon. and if he decides to stay in japan until world, wouldnt it be nice if javi-nam-brian join him there and stay until worlds with him, so they can be together, also no jetlag before worlds which wouldnt hurt (sorry i am not making sense but they need to reunite already )

Someone says more features to come which means maybe the materials were recorded beforehand. :) I'm sure Yuzuru will not delay his preparation for WC, the most important event of the season.
