I also won't be able to keep up with live action tonight/overnight, but will be checking results when I wake up. I may be able to do the free skate though - whether I bother or not may depend on the SP results

I actually like her hectic, kooky program. She seems to connect to the JLo stuff and shows her joy so why not?

Anna's "Adaggio" bugs me more - the vocals are too overpowering for her.

I like it too... it fits her personality. You get the feeling with Radionova that the SP was her choosing, and the FS was her coach's choosing... whereas with Liza it seems as though the SP was chosen for her and then she went with the Middle Eastern FS.

It's smart of Radionova to have an SP with personality, and a FS where she can focus more on the elements. Her challenge moving forward will be to have a FS that exudes some of the personality/intricacy we see in her SP, but where she can still reel off the elements with ease.

That was one of my favourite programs from last season.

I don't mind her SP music, though - I certainly haven't felt the need/wish to mute. (Not anywhere in the same sentence as POTO, which I detest - especially Music of the Night - ugh!) Anyway, she sells the heck out of that program. It's like her FP from last year - except I like this SP better - which I didn't particularly like... but I couldn't help but like her.

A great performer can sell you on just about anything. I agree that if anyone other than Elena did a JLo/Flamenco mix I'd turn into an oak tree (throwing shade everywhere ) but I have to admit, Elena's SP is one of my favorites this year. I think it's well choreographed to her personality and, despite people not liking it, it's quite intricate as well which helps it score well. It's fun and entertaining and totally suits her.

There's something so wrong about Elena...but I just love her! There are a ton of things I could nitpick about but when she starts to skate I forget all about them. She's a very special skater...

the music fits Lena like a glove (& the other way round) she's our shiny pop princess & let her be!
Imo everyone should have a look at animations of her smile early in the morning. Then your day is guaranteed to start on a high note!

Lord help us all if Radionova ever decides to do POTO. It's bad enough that she's doing a warhorse like Rachmaninoff. She's one of those skaters who can afford to do interesting types of music that are "personalized" to her, because she'll always perform well.

I've only ever been inspired by Boitano's POTO... and probably Chan too. Certainly POTO with lyrics is just awful.

I don't mind Elena's SP mostly because of her cool transitions... Especially into her 3L and 2A! Also the undeniable sass factor. I just think Ashley can make a good impression following her. I'd rather have Ash skating after Elena than Liza or even Anna.

I've only ever been inspired by Boitano's POTO... and probably Chan too. Certainly POTO with lyrics is just awful.

To be honest, i am a POTO fan and just love it. But as a newbie skater fan, i´m very... surprised... at how people manage to skate to very same stuff every year when there is so many music in the world. Its boring for people who watch the performance - and most likely not good for skaters either, because they get compared to other better skaters

I haven't been paying much attention this season so am surprised people don't like Lena's SP. I personally like it a lot. Yea, the JLo part of the music cut is kind of odd but Lena looks like she's having so much fun with it. she really draws you in.

I think it's hilarious that this thread is already on page 11 and the competition hasn't started yet. I think it will probably reach 100 pages by the time it's over, lol.

Radionova's Rachmaninoff LP music was only used by Michelle Kwan in that awesome 1998 SP before IIRC, so it's not like she's using Rach 2 or anything.

I think you're right. And I won't be able to do a lot of catching up until I get home close to 2 pm....though I fear by then it'll reach 3,000,000 pages.

But she could do the same with literally thousands of better pieces of music. Even if I could get past my dislike of JLo, there's something about the audio quality that sets my teeth on edge. I like Elena, but I have to mute the volume (then again, she's certainly not the only one this season :disapp. She's one of the few skaters who really can skate to almost anything, so I'm just thankful this season is almost over & hope she will move on to something else...

Sometimes I wonder if many choreographers are really that knowledgeable about different genres of music...do they continually try to educate themselves and look for new things, or just stick with whatever worked in the past?
