2015 Worlds Ladies Short Program March 26

ahh, I really only care about the last 2 groups so...where can I find the starting time for each group?

There's something so wrong about Elena...but I just love her! There are a ton of things I could nitpick about but when she starts to skate I forget all about them. She's a very special skater...

That is the magic of Lena Radio. Its all in her personality on ice. I am assuming you are a big MK fan? While MK was not technically the strongest skater, she really connected with the audience and did everything so beautifully and with a maturity that everyone including the judges were drawn in to her skate. This is in a way similar to Maria Butyrskaya. I know Butyrskaya was a head case and she makes you nervous but there is just this undescribable vulnerability that draws you in and makes her compelling to watch. Of course Lena Radio is no MK or MB and she certainly does not have their artistry. However, what she has is a great ability to perform for the audience and she is able to make audience feel positive. That sassiness and positivity she displays on the ice is very infective and I am sure the judges feel it too. So she may not be as musical as say Ashley Wagner but she still outperforms Wagner and that ability to create a positive mood is probably what influences judges to be generous in giving her good PE IN scores. To me, that uniqueness is aptly rewarded in PCS even though Radionova is not what we will describe as "artistic". Thats why we all love watching her.

Oh, darn. Thats too late for me to stay up. And I was soooo excited that it's showing in prime time U.S. Phooey.

Okay, I have no clue if I can discreetly follow this event in any of my classes or wake up at 3 am, so.... :cheer: GO EVERYONE!

The most I've ever been able to do is follow the scores and these threads...though for the ladies free at the Olympics I was at my work study and able to watch whenever I didn't have to help anyone.

Ladies start 9:30 and end 1:30am here (central time, usa). Ugh, I'm so angry I missed the pairs short. I should have skipped short dance and gotten up for pairs. Not making the same mistake tonight- I'll just stay up for 12 hours

I like Radio Nova's short programme. I've yet to see her skate a programme I don't like. Since no one sems to giving Polina Edmunds a chance, I'll go long and pick her for the bronze medal. She will have to turn into SuperPolina...............she can do that. Radio will be Wagner's kryptonite. She will blow the roof off creating a thunder of applause and a wall of noise...............then Wagner will follow. Gracie Gold is the wildcard. She could fade into 7th or below, then again she could rock the house and be in the running for gold after the shorts. She is due for a solid outing.

Shanghai is GMT + 8. It will be like 0230 in UK when the SP starts at 1030 in Shanghai. However, the final group skates around 1500 which will work out to be 0700. So you wake up to a bright new day and you can grab an early morning coffee to watch Tuks kick off from that group.
Thank you beautiful <3

I love how this thread is over 100 pages and the Ladies haven't even started, lol. I stayed up for all of Dance last night. My struggle is real.... Do I sleep or watch skating...

I hate that the two final groups won't be skating for such a long time! For the Eastern time zone, it's just late enough that it's too late to stay up for, and just early enough that it's too early to wake up and watch. If it was the weekend I wouldn't mind, but on a weekday...:drama:

I'll probably end up waking up in the middle of the night to check the results though.

It is Miyahara's birthday today! Hopefully she keeps those UR in check and have a great one!

OMG! Not so good...for EST it means 10:30pm. After losing a night for dance...I almost regret, I wonder f I have the power to resist overnight.

This is what I'm battling with. I think I have to sett alarm for 2:30 for the last 2 groups....

I was a big fan of Kwan and of Butyrskaya. I would actually place Radionova slightly ahead of a 16 year olde Michelle Kwan in terms of overall quality and substantially ahead of a 16 year olde Maria Butyrskaya, so lets see where she is at in 2 years. Artistry is in the eyes of the beholder. One fan or judges junk can be another fan or judges art. I got to see Kwan live in person at the 2004 US Nats. Her freeskate performance was at once beautiful presentation and technical xtasy. Smooth as glass and so powerful. I see Super Nova as an artist. Steadily improving. Barring injury and/or growth spurt problems, I think she can become a classic.

Starts in an hour.............................
