Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

thanks everyone for links and updates, i wonder how will his reaction be when he heard he is in textbooks
about ice shows, i think he will be on Dream on ice where team japan shows their new programs (seems like its a tradition?) and he might do his own show Together on ice
In the casting list, Mura is on Dream on ice even though he has WTT. Yuzuru not (maybe yet?). http://www.onice.jp/DOI15/men.html
Or maybe he will not go to any ice shows this summer? That would be great for his health IMO. But yeah I think he will do a show in Sendai.

A selfish part of me want him to be in DOI because I want to see his new program (if he has one...) because I can't wait 6 months! :slink:

i think not announced yet but he will attend to some ice shows, maybe they want to keep it to themselves for a long as they can or because he was too focused for WC they didnt have a chance to talk to him?

After all the silence and the CM bomb (not even a new photo from him :laugh2:) I have decided to lower my expectation lol. I am not surprised if suddenly Yuzuru says he will go to no ice show (except the one at Sendai) this summer.
People may scream and beg for his appearance and he can just hide and use Javi's hand to wave back like this: https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd...._=1437011160_9d7acd9480fa2a6e9ec41c03cd4604c9

We have survived this season full of suspense and trials, so yes, no worry. ;) It would honestly surprise me if he doesn't do an ice show in Sendai, but he needs as much rest as he can, so hopefully he won't do much. Or at least, just a few here and there that would not disturb his preparation for next season and allow him enough rest.

I hope that Yuzuru will do 2 Grand Prix this year in America like SC / SA or in Europe like TEB, Cup of Russia. And the GPF will be in Barcelona. We all see how the audience loved him in Nice in 2012, at TEB in 2013, at Russia in Sochi 2014 and in CoR in 2011, in Barcelona GPF in 2014 they were crazy for him. We are fans of Yuzuru all over the world, not just in Asia (Japan, China, Korea). It is only fair that we are entlitle to see him skate live too, especially he will retire after the Olympics in 2018. There are only 3 more years to see him skate. Especially this year he was almost in Asia for both GP, beginning with COC in Shanghai, then NHK in Japan, then again World 2015 in Shanghai, then WTT in Japan in April 2015. Anyway, I understand that the organisations of the GP in China or NHK want him too for themselves, but it's only fair to share him with others countries too. He has been 2 times at COC, two or three times at NHK, 2 times at CoR but only once at SA, SC and TEB. I hope he will be in SA or SC or TEB. I don't worrry if he has to face Patrick Chan there, or Denis or Javier. He is competitive, he likes to skate against strong competitors.
Good luck to everybody for the GP.
I understand your feelings.
As for Patrick - he needs time to adjust, so I don`t want Yuzu going to SC.

Wow! That's amazing! so proud of you yuzu!!!!!
Maybe I should do some research and write a paper about yuzu:biggrin:
I just browsed around and saw some academic books with reference to yuzu! That's amazing!
And this is one of them:

And another one: https://twitter.com/7505752bfc8449a/status/585292673684078592

I just get tears in my eyes.
Wow. It`s indeed like a legend, isn`t it? "He begun skating at age of 4 and he won his first world championship medal when he was 17. He became an Olympic champion when he was 19 years old".
What a privilege to root for him, to see him compete. We are a part of this legend, as his fans. Truly proud of myself right now.

You know my first words watching TOI were - Seriosly? Only men?
Cmon, Yuzu you can do better than that.
Invite ladies, pairs and dancers, no one will decline, you`ll see. ;)

They were talking about Shinzo Abe though, right? Yuzu might be a positive figure but the whole text was rather depressing. I hope Yuzu's cosmopolitan attitude and international friendships coupled with his devotion to Japan will resonate with people. If he were friends with Han Yan instead of Javi, it might inspire some to be less predjudiced aganst China. Well, maybe Shoma and Boyang will lead the way...

What kind of a text was the other ine though? It had a bible quote at the beginning...

I don't quite understand why the author put that quote in the beginning:think:, but it's basically about yuzu's performance in Nice, I didn't read the entire book, i only read that part, so I'm not too sure about how yuzu's RJ 1.0 performance there is related to the rest of the book. But from what I have read, it's about commitment to excellence (aside from being a raw talent) and how it makes an athlete or artist or musician perfect! I'll read it more details when I have time!

BTW, in response to the book which contrasted yuzu and shinzo abe, I wonder if any of you have seen this video before:
https://youtu.be/5wqmdoj4nRI (i really don't know if I should find this funny or uncomfortable to watch)

Omg, laugh definitely laugh. The author should have done more research and included the hug with Nan Song.

That CGI model of Yuzuru, though, it needs to be slimmed down by half in order to remotely resemble him :laugh2: And Yuzuru/Evgeni? Seriously? That's one of those ships I can't get behind, despite all the mad respect for Plush.

lol that video was both stupid and funny. :laugh2: Yes, the model is not really good, and they need to get some information regarding the WR in Sochi too. Y/E? In all the ships that exist, I've never ever heard of that one. I thought he'd mention Yuzuvier, which is one of the most popular, lol! But this? Eww (no seriously no lol)

I know, right? Just

Apparently, one of the most popular ships among the Chinese fans is Yuzuru/Patrick, which also made me go all:

Same. While we have nothing against Plushy and Patrick, those ships really make no sense to me. But then again, the armada is just so huge, it's hard (or actually impossible) to understand all the ships and everyone's tastes.

Well he is good friends with Han Yan, they've both said it since they came up the ranks together and are close in age (IIRC Han Yan is only a year younger than Yuzuru?). Even though many thought they may not get along anymore after the crash, they still do :). It's not the same as with Javi, as their friendship practically overshadows every other in the skating world right now, but they are still good friends as far as I know. Then again, Yuzuru gets along with many people, he's very likeable  it would be nice to see his friendship with other skaters on the spotlight too and if it helps with all the prejudices against some countries, even better.

I totally agree with this!!! That CGI model looks nothing like our beautiful and elegant yuzu!!!!! I guess the video was made in a rush? I heard that this video was originally made by some Sendai fans, and has been translated into English (not sure how true this is, but I have watched a Japanese version somewhere before!)

by the way, have you guys watched this video too? (which shows how the chinese girls were fangirling during the wc):

Those who has been following the weibo for yuzu should have known what this is about though~

Haha! I actually think I'm turning into a Chanyu shipper as well.

My Goodness, he really is a superstar in the figure skating world, and he definitely has the most devoted fans

I heard that Chinese girls love him. I heard that he has many korean fangirls too. A lot of his Asian fans are Japanese anime/manga fans. Many fangirls think Yuzu looks exactly like a prince from manga. I'm not sure about this popularity in non-Asian countries though. Do you think he would be more popular than Jason Brown in the USA? It's hard to imagine that.
