The pooh-san is so cute!!! It's sad that these two beautiful programs which had great potentials to become one the best programs were never skated to its full potential due to this bizarrely difficult season for yuzu.... I loved these two programs and these two programs made me love chopin and poto music even more~

I really am looking forward to his new season and his new programs~

Actually, why did she change costume? Does anyone know? It looks lovely, but I didn't find why. To have more of a Christine look, and less Phantom? :think:
Yes, Yuzu imitating Kanako and Satoko was quite funny. :laugh: I also loved how they compared Kanako to Go-chan in the Team Japan EX interview. :laugh2:
 
I don't know if Kanako's new costume match Yuzuru, but what I know is that her new costume was a great improvement. I just cannot with the old one, the mask at the front :drama: I hope this isn't a signal that she will keep POTO for next season if she doesn't retire though. In my dreams Kanako always skate to softer music and wear gorgeous dresses, much like her SP which is glorious and her POTO free doesn't exist.

His "serious mode" face sometimes cracks me up too. Not when he's about to skate, but at warm up's for example, when he's singing with headphones on and 'feeling awesome'. Oh Yuzuru, so much embarassment :rofl: I think that's why he seems different from other people, he just doesn't care to be euphoric or thinks he's fab regardless.

Notice how he doesn't hold GG's waist properly :laugh:

Yeah, he is very serious in competition and just before as well. I think every skater knows that so actually no one goes near him when he is in prep mode; and I think that's partly why he is not as goofy and loose as we had hoped he would be in the K&C because he is actually watching his teammates perform and to him he is still in competition mode.

Anyone notices how he has natural hair without styling during the Team performance and then I guess started working on his hair since it was styled when he introduced Javier? ;)
I love the fact that Nanami-sensei is still working with him these days; she must be so proud! This is a video of the team EX practice plus the actual performance.

Here's an interview with Nobu and Matsuoka plus team Japan (no ice dancers or pairs again...) that took place just before the EX. They talk about Kanako and Satoko's hair, Satoko's "guts" pose, and the fist pump between the two men, among other things.

Same, because all I saw was a 20 year old guy being joyful like how some 7 year old kid would be when opening their presents on a Christmas morning :laugh: Just love it how everyone there couldn't help but to smile at this guy fangirling over his 4loop, because who wouldn't. It's quirky (in a cute way).

And what he did for Cathy was truly admirable. How can a person not look at that and go "damn, how charming can this kid get?" Respect! :cheer2:

I thought you people knew already, but Kanako is not retiring. She has made it official a few days ago. :biggrin: And no I don't think she'll keep POTO. Actually, I'm not sure any skater will keep POTO (Gracie included).

I enjoy seeing Yuzuru looking so free and singing along whatever song he's listening to. A good way to relax before performance (and it's so cute to watch lol!). But yes, only in the K&C does he relax and play around more. But maybe he doesn't go "full goof mode" like Chris (once again, bless him and little Pooh) because he's not much of an extrovert. But he's much more goofy and relaxed for Gala and shows that are not competitions. Even if WTT are for fun, this is still "competition time" for him. Maybe next time he'll be more relaxed and will "lash out" a bit more since this year was his very first. ^^ After all, Satoko is very shy, but she did manage to come out of her shell and have fun at the event.
By the way, why does Yuzuru called her "Saton" when he cheered for her at her FS? Is it just a nickname? (my Japanese is rusty and I don't recall this form of familiarity aside for -chan or -kun)

Yuzuru can talk big and act stoic as much as he wants but when he's happy he shows his true embarassing self just like a kid :laugh: I actually think his liking for talking big and doing big jumps just for the sake of doing it is another part of him being a child at heart.

Also, did anyone realize that he did his cleanest short of the season...................... at the gala of WTT, and with a Lutz Toe :laugh2: Oh dear.

The Zayak rule states that you can't do more than 2 of any jump in a FP. Not only that but only a total of 2 types of quads or triples can't be don more than twice. Because Yuzuru's original layout was supposed to have a 4T and later on, a 3A-3T However, he popped the 4T and it became a 3T. So he's very good at making quick judgements when that happens. He did a 3A-2T because if he did a 3A-3T, a 3Lz-2T, 3A-1Lo-3S and then a 3Lz, he would have zayaked because there would have been 3 triples that would have been repeated: 3T, 3Lz, and 3A. By changing the 3A-3T into a 3A-2T, he avoided Zayaking because only the 3A and the 3Lz was repeated.

Haha, Hanyu-san himself noticed that! He said in the interview right after the EX (where he was still sweating like crazy) that "the only clean program is my EX..."

To be honest, I'd be a little creeped out if I knew that someone was filming me dressing, even if it was just zipping up a costume. It just seems a little...personal??
