Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

To be honest, I'd be a little creeped out if I knew that someone was filming me dressing, even if it was just zipping up a costume. It just seems a little...personal??

Yeah, me too. How can Yuzu just change his costume in the corridor in front of camera?! :o:

That was just an unfortunate timing, as he was skating right after Jason and Han. But I wonder why Yuzuru had to put his costume back, considering he had it during warm-up? A problem related to his belly, maybe? I hope not, beside he looked painless as far as we have seen. Or maybe he forgot to put something under his costume and he did it in a hurry.

Maybe that is before 6min warm-up? I just find it cute that he is quite clumsy in zipping his costume. He struggled for a while. :laugh2:

It might have been ok for him to just zip his costume in front of camera cause it didn't show much. Or he didn't notice camera filming him cause it started filming quite late, he already put his costume on and wasnt expecting anything.
I stand for him simply being an alien and not caring at all.

I would actually love to see Stephane choreograph one, he did such an amazing job with Satoko's!

Stéphane sounds good! Also Pasquale Camerlengo and Kenji Miyamoto who did wonderful programs for Daisuke (Blues for klook <3). But you know what, I want TARASOVA to choreo for him!!! I wonder if she would do it...

Romeo & Juliet 1.0 was join coreography effort of Nanami Abe and two russian coreographers. Yuzuru wanted to work with them again.

I think Camerlengo did an EX for Yuzu over the summer and it didn't do much for me (forgot which one it was...) Yuzu himself said he's not used to the type of steps/choreo that was done for him in that program. I like all the Jpop EX's that Kenji Miyamoto did for Yuzu (Story, Hana ni Nare...) but they seem a little too simple? Not sure how a real competitive program would turn out. TARASOVA! I was actually thinking the same thing. And the reason for me was that Bestemianova/Bobrin (Tarasova's students) helped with developing R&J1, wouldn't it be better to work with Tarasova herself? Also, I always feel that the Russian type of choreo might emphasize Yuzu's style as a a passionate and 'feelings' kind of skater. That's extremely unlikely to happen tho since his choreographers have come strictly from the 'Orser team' for the last 3 years.

Oh I think "Russian drama" suits Yuzuru judging from R & J 1 the choreography of which owes a lot to Russian choreographers. And it would be interesting to see Brian work with Tarasova when they had been in opposing camps in the Yuna - Mao days. But Tarasova has in the past been dismissive of Yuzuru such as when he beat her favorite Joubert to the podium in Worlds 2012. She may have have changed her mind about him though. Or not.

On another topic, I wonder what Yuzuru may be thinking about his idol Evgeny Plushenko's planned return to active competition.

:) lol Because i adore every single program she did for Mao and Yuzuru actually really reminds me of Mao a lot in the way he seems to effortlessly move on the ice and also the way he feels the music.

Is that the program with a terrible singer at FaOI? I actually like that choreography. The singer might've ruined the experience. I'm probably in the minority that likes the program. I actually think all the Jpop programs he did were very good. He is a very Japanese boy. Anything Japanese related suits him.

Yes that's the one. I can picture the singer's face but I can't remember his name or the song. Yuzu is indeed a very Japanese boy, couldn't agree more! I actually thought the Team Japan EX (a very Japanese song) was an amazing fit for him, and I looooved how every step and movement he did was perfect to the music. The crossovers he did before the Ina Bauer just showed his skating skills combined with artistry. All of this just to prove once again how Nanami Abe is a perfect choreographer for Yuzu. They understand each other!

song is 'Ienai yo' by Hiromi Go.
Idk about Abe. Maybe yeah, that would be interesting to see how she does with this new improved version of Yuzuru. I liked his "white legend" and Scriabin program from her.

My favorites from her are definitely the Paganini and R&J1. Always go back to rewatch those ones!

I think Bestemianova/Bobrin's work is quite different from Tarasova's. And I didn't really like most of Tarasova's programs for Mao, especially Bells Of Moscow because Mao is such a light and airy skater, it had too much weight for her, I thought that it was such a pity. Not that Mao didn't do justice to it, it was good, it wasn't about her, it was the type of music/program/choreo that never really felt right. I also didn't like Swan Lake. Mao's most lyrical programs were the best for me, it highlighted everything that is great at her skating, my favourites are Claire de Lune, Liebestraum, and everything Chopin. The only Tarasova choreo that I liked for her was Ladies in Lavender, even if it was still a bit exagerated, and I liked just because of the style that it's similar to what Lori Nichol used to make for her. I Got a Rythm is an exception, I like it too. So it's just a question of preference, I don't know. That's why I'm not sure of Yuzuru using Tarasova choreo. However, even if he's also light he's still such a power skater so maybe it can work, who knows. I think there's a very slim chance of him working with russians though, ever since he moved to Canada he has only used canadian choreographers, but I wish that would happen. Not with Tarasova but with Bestemianova/Bobrin.
And the only japanese pop program that I really liked from Yuzuru (loved actually) was Hana Ni Na rae, the others were nice I think .. But honestly, it felt kind of flat, like the same thing over and over again ... Maybe i'm just tired of all the japanese pop.

I'm most excited about his choice of music than the choreographers ... I shouldn't be because he will most probably choose something dramatic/from musicals/character driven for the LP once again, maybe show up with Carmina Burana... But I can dream ....

Yuzuru jamming to galas is the most hilarious thing, he thinks he's faaabulous lol Everytime he's too happy I get second hand embarassment, he can't control himself, he's too honest to his feelings. :laugh2:

Somehow the PW gala feels like trolling. Hanyu: "Did you think that PW was over after two whole years of it and a whole summer of lunge poses?? NOOOPE. Think again!"

.

Lol
But you know what?
I love his pure joy of "yeah, babe, I'm soooo fab!!"
Really, how can you not share his feelings?
I don't feel any embarassment seeing it, also I love when Yuzu pays zero attention to cameras and does his warm-up and sings. It's so Yuzu!

And about his costumes-I said it before-and I say it again-his costumes are unique and gorgeous, one of a kind, just like Yuzu himself.

As for TAT-I would like to see more of Mao impact on Yuzu.
I think her programs for Mao shows best of her, epic programs, I love them much more than Lori's programs!
Btw, which Satoko's program is Lambiel's work? "Let her go"?
And I second the question, what does "Satton" mean regarding Satoko?
