Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I saw some translation saying that they were practicing opening or finale (not sure), there is a dance move somewhat like banging the wall with fists. Oda then practiced this move and murmured kabedon kabedon. Yuzu heard it and said that is not kabedon. And then he showed oda what kabedon really is.

 Reminds me of the occasion when he told Kanako that she doesn't know how to write a certain word in Kanji and then showed her how it is done: http://yuzu-ice.tumblr.com/post/107105240029/yuzuru-just-likes-teasing-kanako. A teacher like his father. ;)

Hahaha LOL so what is the name of this pairing? Yubu? They are so cute together! I'm in this ship now:cool:

Yoda? Nobuzuru? Yuzunari (one of the British Eurosport guys once called Yuzuru something like this )?

@matmuh, where did you get your awesome profile picture?

Thanks everyone for the links, translations, and updates. :)

I did one more silly thing today  since Madame Tussauds is almost literally right across from our hotel......... seriously, how could I not. But thank all the Gods in the universe that there were barely any people around tonight
And if that thing is made after his actual measurements....... dear me, he's tiny! Like, TINY tiny! He didn't look that tiny in Barcelona, but up close, holy cannoli. Thank God we're close to the water here, that's probably the only reason why people weren't wondering about my beached-whale-impression, because that is precisely what I looked like next to this tiny itty-bitty thing. (tiny! I mean it)

(oh and there was no longer a rope around the figure :o:)

You are making the most of your vacation. Good for you!

Now you sound like Kurt Browning in his Sochi commentary on Yuzuru's individual SP ("He is tiny!").
Disparity in size notwithstanding (just teasing you;)), I hope you had good souvenir shots with Yuzuru's
wax figure and that it didn't melt in the heat of your encounter.

On a serious note, Yuzuru is relatively tall by Asian standards. I can understand how he may appear bigger when he is performing. I have read similar comments about Daisuke about how people are surprised at how short he is off ice because he has this larger than life presence on the ice.

ETA: Thanks matmuh for the link.

Are you tall?

Bear in mind figure skaters are standing on, well, figure skates. That adds quite a bit of height that isn't normally there!

He just likes teasing her an Oda. It is a shame that she got injured and can't attend shows this summer. According to her interview with Kenji, the skater that she is the most close to is Oda. I was so looking forward to her cute interaction with Oda in ice shows...

Videos
Oda talks about yuzu kebadon:https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=BzDkA0V3ZhM

He said it was yuzu who volunteered to show him how to do a kabedon. And there are more photos showing Yuzu's face during kabedon but yuzu doesn't allow them to go public. Oda said even he is a man his heart beats fast while yuzu is doing that to him. And he feels happy about being kabedon by yuzu as he is probably the one person on earth who has been kabedon by yuzu. He said sorry to all yuzu female fans.

I wonder why Yuzu suddenly thought about Doing a kabedon with oda.....?

Another translation telling why he did kabedon, credit to a-m-n-o-s

Nonchan posted that Believe is the theme song for movie "Brave Hearts: Umizaru", the movie trailer.

It is a movie about team spirit, going after the impossible, “never give up” attitude against all odds and persisting till the very end. Released in 2012, the movie provided an inspirational and uplifting spirit for the public in the face of the previous year's earthquake.

The song's message is "by believing in yourself, you can make miracles happen". Now I understand why Yuzu poured his heart out into the performance.

The funny thing is Kurt said this in Yuzuru's senior debut competition at 2010 NHK: " have a lot of people mention to me, 'Well it's good to be short because it's easier to jump, right?' Well Jozef Sabovcik and Yuzuru would have another idea about that. He's very long as you can see...." (https://vimeo.com/88866728, starting @ 0:25) For the record, Josef Sabovcik is 5' 9" or 1.75 m. (http://www.jumpinjoe.com/profile.htm)

I never actually saw this commentary, I don't suppose anyone has a link to it? Seeings as Kurt has spent time with Yuzuru in person he must have noticed how tiny Yuzu is :p

Well, I thought that Kana-Nobu sets the standard for "cute interaction" among the TJ members, but Yuzu-Nobu is certainly challenging that impression. I have a feeling that Kanako is jealous right now that she can't join in on the fun in the ice shows. Anyway, I wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her skate again.

Both of them are wonderful! Especially, I’m in love with “Let it GO”. It’s is beautiful and so inspirational. It must fit him!

Hamaguri, I'm happy you like both of these songs and yes, "Let it Go" is very beautiful. I've been hooked on it ever since I heard it several months ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SWJSL8uhr8

The point of my post was to say I'm hoping Yuzu picks music for his EX that American fans in the arena in Boston will recognize and that is somewhat current. I'm not a U2 fan, so please go with something different! Another poster mentioned Ed Sheeran who is great and has one hit after another, but since Josh Farris uses his music for his SP, I think another artist would be better.

Wow, I just read through the discussion of Yuzu's musical tastes! My guess is what he said several years ago as a 16 year old has little to do with what he prefers now. Wouldn't it be cool to see the "Recently Played" list on his iPod?
