I was today at Finlandia Trophy to see the Ladies SP. I went there with one of my daughters who is eight years old. My fourth time at Finlandia.
Finnish skaters seemed all more or less nervous. I missed somewhat Jenni Saarinen (who took a break during summer and will compete later in the autumn) and Ljubov Efimenko ( who was going to represent Poland but changed her mind, represents Finland again but it was too late to get to this competition). But now this is a great opportunity for Emmi and Anni as this is their first international senior competition. For Viveca it is also the first time at Finlandia. Viveca was best of them now but I really like Anni, too. There will be a real fight for the crown in Finnish Nationals in December. Yes, the winner there will receive the ice princess crown, challenge cup.
Tanja Odermatt, lovely performance.
Hannah Miller, nice and jumps seemed to go well
Juulia Turkkila, she did a balloon in the same place as in the practice just before skating.
Eliska Brezinova, it was terrible to see her falls, I could not even watch them through, the crowd was so supporting her.
Joshi Helgesson, first one who seemed to enjoy her performance.
Camilla Gjersem, energetic and lovely, nice to watch.
Lutricia Bock, I liked everything in her, her dress, music, skating, my daughter liked her a lot, too.
Julia Lipnitskaia, new hairstyle suits her well, her dress is very unique, the crowd welcomed her well. Happy to see her here.
Rika Hongo, the best this time.
What I did not like was the amount of music with vocals. It is difficult to skate to music with vocals and I find it often disturbing, is the skater really skating to the music? Some succeed better than others but overall I do not like it.
It is always nice to see live skating. Now I look forward to worlds 2017 at Helsinki and hope to go there.
