2015 Finlandia Trophy Ladies SP and FS

Costly mistakes for sure. However, I will say that the way she moves across the ice is  It's like watching a dream. I hope she can get over what's holding her back.

Well i definitely prefer it to the "Paintball massacre" Short program,

But Yulia looks defeated, When she steps on the ice, When she makes a mistake, When she bows and leaves ...

She needs someone in her team to get her excited about skating again.

Julia started off really well but kinda lost it toward the middle there. Just not enough content to challenge what Rika did. Julia will definitely get a boost from her spins (much better here than in the SP) but I don't think it'll be enough to account for the no 3-3 or 2-3 and the fall. She's got a lot of work to do before the GP starts.

This program is rather blah. It's just skate from one end to the next. Comparing it to Rika's program which had changes in tempo and mood and had moments of choreography, Julia's is kinda empty by comparison.

It reminded me of a sailor costume. Agree, too childish. She's a woman now!

She looked so tired halfway through her program. The music is rather bland when she's tired...if she seemed to have more energy and mental engagement I think she could really interpret and sell the heck out of though because it's such subtle music. But that was not this performance. Poor Yulia.

I think I agree.I hope she'll rediscover her joy and energy but there's a whole season ahead, she's still got some time.

It's clear as day that physically Yulia is not prepared at all. Second half of the free skate was very telling. And mentally she's still not 100% prepared too, but IMO she's much calmer than last season. Way to go Yulia, FP is really beautiful. :)

Some costly mistakes but the jumps she landed cleanly were beautiful. For sure she won't be in the lead and because of the pops it might go behind So Youn and Joshi for TES. I think her PCS will still be higher but not as high as Rika.

She had a lower TES than Tanja Odermatt...

It's a pity about the jumps but PCS wise I really thought she did well. I like the music, if she skates clean this will be a great programme for her. The salchow seemed to throw her of for the flip combo attempt.

I thought she looked very dejected and disappointed in the K&C with Eteri.

Yulia looks so tired. What happens to her? Is it the growth spurt?

Major gift to Lipnistkaia. She shouldn't receive higher PCS than Rika. Yeah..she skates pretty, but very slow and laboured in my mind. So youn is much more fluid in her movements and was almost 9 points behind in components.
As for the jumps mistakes, I fear she needs to overhaul completely her jump technique. The mule kicking into her flip and the 2A are no nos
