2015 Finlandia Trophy Ladies SP and FS

Hannah's jumps are just bad. Tiny, UR, off landings. I'm not really familiar with her skating, but I'm surprised she's on the GP this season.

She accumulated points last year in the Sr. B competitions, which allowed her to be high enough on the points list to be selected for GPs.

I wonder if she will recover with Tutberidze. It looks like she need more experienced coach, who could manage with physical changes and Yulias mind.
I like the idea of the free program but - jumps has never been strong point of her. I agree that she needs learning them anew. The is taller and her shape is more woman-like. It means changed center of gravity. Another problem is that after the program her behaviour was impolite - I understand that she was angry and frustrated but she is mature enough to be nice to the girls delivering her flowers and toys. Last year already I was afraid that Eteri lacks wisdom of Mishin who supported Tuktamysheva and shepherded her by the difficult period of growing up and maturation. Sorry as she has been such a talent.

Joshi should've been in second here. Yes, Yulia is CAPABLE of beating Joshi by 10 points in PCS, but I don't think she should've today.

Will the medal ceremony be on the stream soon?

Regarding U.S. ladies - If you ever want to win a safe bet, look for any competition where the door has been left open a crack for a US lady to step through, and then bet against it happening. Collectively, they just do not have a head for competition.

I wonder, where has Julia's 3Lo gone? Anybody knows her state of this jump?

I think her last jump was supposed to be 3Lo but after she failed to add 3T to either 3F or 2A she just did 3T instead (and then a half-hearted half-loop combo? Eh).

Rika Hongo has taken every opportunity given and has run with it. For me is bittersweet beacause as her star rises, I see one of my favorites fading Kanako Murakami. Anything can happened, but as of right know she is not even in top 3 Japanese lady.

I am happy for Rika

I think the reason Hannah relocated to Arturian is because the jumps have always been a problem. She isn't slow, is generally nicely costumed with pretty sparkly dresses, but the jumps are often under rotated. At 2015 U. S. Nationals in the FS she under rotated the lutz, flip and loop. If she could straighten out the jumps she would place much better. She didn't make the coaching change until June 2015 so maybe it is too soon to see improvement. I like her a lot and hope eventually the jumps will get better.

The jumps just weren't there. It's rough but that's just how it is sometimes...

Um... what's with Hannah's PCS?

I would have her tech & PCS reversed.
Edited to add: I see that the numbers were temporarily reversed. They make sense now. (Great job reporting the results. Very tough job & I am grateful you took the time to do this!)

I haven't seen the skate yet but I think it's funny how before everyone said she was to quick and didn't hold out her movements. Now people say she's too slow. It's funny if ya think about it.

Why is it funny? It's a legit complaint. She rushes through her arm movements and seems slow/labored across the ice are two different things

Um... what's with Hannah's PCS?
I know - with 3 falls and all the under rotated jumps she still gets higher PCS than Park and Joshi who had much better skates! And funny how with all the errors today her skating skills are much better then they were in the short!
It's just judges using PCS marks again to keep skaters higher in the rankings.

I feel bad for Joshi and So Youn. Neither of them is Worlds medal quality yet, sure, but even when they deliver they don't get the scores they should.

I actually liked Yulia's LP here soooo much better than at the test skates. I felt she paid a lot more attention to the choreography and music here.

Julia had skated a different program today than in September Russian open...This one is more beautiful...I hope she will manage to get rid of her nerves. Maybe she needs a different coach. I don't know. Her steps, transitions and spins are the best in the field, but for podium positions she also needs jumps. Actually the first jumps in the program were simply beautiful. But after that she lost interest/power, I don't know. All around, I loved her new program, much better than the one in Sochi 2015.

My Mom was watching a few skaters with me including Yulia and Rika. She was surprised with the different attitude towards flower and toys girls from Yulia and Rika (and also from Serghey and Ryuju Hino). Like- why didn't Yulia at least thank those girls or bow at least one time, give them a smile. That is really not good from PR point of view. I think it's the attitude problem and somebody should teach Yulia to act different because it's daunting to her image. People love her so much and it is really not that much to thank everyone with a smile, and then get bored and pissed off because the skate wasn't really that awesome.
It does not mean that I don't like her or anything- but this kind of behaviour should disappear as long as she's on public. She really needs that from the sponsorship point of view too. Nice and polite, no matter what. If she's a huge fan of Mr. Hanyu- that's something she could learn from him.;)
