I love Murakami and dislike Chan, but Chan was the best tonight. Gorgeous skating overall and deserved first place in the FS and the gold medal. Skating skills, speed, artistry, jumps, steps, everything was there. It's as simple as that.

I don't get why everyone complains about over scoring, the most important part is that every skater gets the medal they deserve. And they did.

Wow. Woooooow. What a competition. Chan's protocols will be interesting. Shocked at how high the TES is. But his program was a thing of beauty. I thought Yuzu had moved me, but Patrick really did surpass him in quality. I love both guys about equally. And I do think Chan's emotional connection has improved.

Kudos to Dice for pulling that off after Patrick's skate. Might've won gold at another competition. I thought it might've been enough to shake up the Patrick/Yuzu top 2, but I guess his SP lead wasn't enough.

What a memorable men's competition. Who would've thought Yuzu or Patrick had it in them after yesterday???

Trick to enjoying a Chan skate: Only watch the feet. And you can really see the difference between him and even Hanyu.

What a night for the guys! All the demons from the SP were gone and they delivered! If SA and SC are anything to go by, we're in for some incredible competitions in the men. :yes:

Murakami was slow compared to Patrick and Yuzuru and I'm not much for his presentation, Patrick was the best tonight but I didn't expect Muarkami to be so hosed on TES, expected a score around 180 and for the judges to let Patrick take it with a smaller margin

Daisuke was such a great surprise, I'm really disappointed he didn't get a higher score. Although I would agree with placements, I think Daisuke was top caliber and should've scored much more for that FS.
