I don't get why everyone complains about over scoring, the most important part is that every skater gets the medal they deserve. And they did.

why score then?? just give us the placements.

Eh. I think Dai deserved second place at the very least. Pity that the Japanese World team only has 2 spots for their men this year. Hope he skated lights out at national this year because he's way more consistent that Shoma.

I really hate this **** of judging...Daisuke was better than Chan

No he wasn't. His level of skating is too far below and he was lucky to be scored so high in the SP in the first place, with a clearly underroted Quad attempt that didn't get called on it and didn't get -3 GOE across the board, despite no transition into it at all and a terrible landing.

Congrats Patrick -- definitely deserved the medal. That 3A looked really good -- did not fail him today. I do think he was a bit over-scored, but whatever -- as long as the podium placements are correct who really cares? But it is scary -- By Pyeongchang he'll literally be getting 10.00s and a 100.00 PCS.

To be honest, I want to give silver to Dice, rahter than Yuzuru, even though Yuzuru is my hometown favotite.
Yuzuru seems very tired during his steps

On the other hand, I am happy that Yuzuru left much room to improve in this competition.

Yeah that was kind of questionable. Giving any sort of 3T a +2 is kind of meh for me. But at least it didn't seem like a pop.

Not like it was a bad triple toe? It was nice, high, legs were pretty much together, landing was nice, SO much speed out of it and judges love seeing that.

Patrick got 18.25 GOE here. If you look at this post from a thread I made last year, you can see a (slightly outdated) list of the other highest GOEs ever for Men. This might be the highest ever :eekn:
