2015-16 Grand Prix Final Ladies SP

Agreed. Tsurkaya's 3Z+3T is breathtaking to watch. One of the most effortless I've ever seen. Pitkeev's technique is good in the sense that I wouldn't expect somebody of his frame to be able to land quads at this point and yet he is able too... very nice 3A too.

And Tutberidze currently produces probably the best spinners in the world. As well as ensures that all her skaters have very challenging programmes full of transitions. Not just jump-stroke-jump.

I had to laugh at that one. Kim, Ito, Kwan, Asada, Kristi, etc. totally did a "-----, please." at that remark if they had heard it.

Hanyu deserves the hyperbole, but until Evgenia wins the big titles, that was a total overboard comment.

Evegnia needs to win the big titles by a margin of at least a dozen points, break SP, LP, combined records, and rewrite the judging system. Then I'll eat crow and admit B.Esp were clairvoyants.

Then you should say so, instead of saying that it's empty. As that's simply not true. You don't like, that's OK.

I'm writing the post, it's clear that it's my opinion, just like it's your opinion (not the definitive truth) that it isn't true. I think there are ways she can backload the program and make it seem more balanced, but this particular program is not doing that (for me, and seemingly for others as well). This conversation is totally pointless to continue with though, is there a beating a dead horse icon I can't seem to find.

I agree...I think winning more than lots of big titles, being consistently on the podium and putting out skate(s) like Hanyu, Chan, Kwan is a start to the greatest conversation.

Anyhoo the future is something to look forward to sooo we will see.

Technique in the sense of the ability to do so many combos, or to do all the jumps after the second half.

In general i have to say also Elena is able to do basically all the 3-3 combos (except of course 3A-3T), while other talented skaters such as Gracie Gold can barely do a 3ltz-3T

My accusation is that Gracie can land just one 3-3 combo.

That "barely" was referring to her inconsistency.

Who barely what? If you think Gracie barely can do a 3Lz+3T, you must get rid of the 3Lz+3T on Elena's 'all the 3-3 combos list'. I'm not just talking about the quality on the combination. Gracie has better consistency on the combination than Elena this season.

Gracie
4 attempts, 3 success, 1 two-foot (landed), GOE 1.3, 1.4, 1.4, -0.3
Elena
5 attempts, 3 success, 2 failure(no 3T), GOE 0.9, 0.4, 0.3

As for this competition(only SP), you also can't say Graice can barely do a 3Lz+3T while saying Elena can do all the 3-3 combos since Elena even couldn't do a 3Lz+3T here at the GPF.

Anyway I admire Elena's ability to tag a 3T to any kinds of jumps as much as you do.

Hope after tomorrow she is in first place

I'm hoping Mao can put out a clean skate. But I'm banking on Medvedeva to win. I am very happy that Mao is actually in better shape than I thought... who would have thought at the beginning of the season that her TRIPLE AXEL would be her most consistent jump at this point in the season!

Let's all remember that she's on the comeback trail! ;)

Evgenia needs to win all the titles for 5 years in a row, because there are too many haters against russian skaters.

"Liza's artistry soo poor... Evgenia's tano jumps so annoying... Radionova i don't like the lyrics in her music programs..."

Too many "haters" against Russian skaters? On this site?? :laugh2:

Making critiques does not equal "hater." Lol.

(I looooooove Elena's programs. See my avatar.)

Okay,

Evgenia: She has so many qualities I love about, but I cannot fully enjoy her skating just yet. She has nice interpretation to the music. She emotes well. She has a grit! She is a graceful skater from waste up, but she cannot generate power with her feet. She makes up the power by swinging her long legs like a pendulum and adding toe steps here and there. Satoko and Asada have slender figures but they get their speed with beautiful footwork. I don't think this is the issue of a physique, but skating skills. Her SS ranges from 8.00 to 9.25 here, and second highest after Mao...:scratch2:

Elena: Due to the error on her 3Lz, her presentation was less intense until she scrambled the 3T to the 3R. Great fight! Then she picks up the drama and emoting till the end. She kept her show going and and saved a tech score. Bravo! But her jumps are muscled and landing is not soft and seldom has a running flow.

Mao: Sigh... Her 3A, footwork, and STSQ were so beautiful. But the slow-mo-replay showed she actually rotated a full circle on the ice between 3F-3R.
[3F-3T and 3R], [3R-2R and 3F], etc. there can be many other jump layouts for her to avoid zayak/pop/UR. I just want her to consider other options and perform this beautiful program to the Max. once again.

Satoko: She had a crowd backing her up. Great theme and execution! I love her more and more. She is poised yet passionate. Fire and Ice! Despite her small jumps, she did really well.

I think people are critical with the russians because they are just that good. And if you look at the top ladies, Its pretty much all russians

If Evgenia wins all the titles for 5 years in a row the Americans will declare the ISU to be a criminal organisation corrupted by the Russian mafia.

Honestly it's not just Russian skaters that get "hated on", Satako, Gracie, and Ashley all get more than their share. Might be better to look at it this way, it means they are relevant and attracting people's attention. Don't see a lot of Kaetlyn Osmond haters or Zijun haters, right. Cause they pose no credible threat to anyones favorites. (No offense to Kaetlyn and Zijun who both have lovely qualities.)

I was watching the event live in the arena tonight and my take on the crowd booing at Satoko's marks was that we thought she was underscored based on her performance. My whole section in the stands was on their feet after her performance and I think everyone was just expecting a better score for her.

So overall tonight, Mao was amazing - apart from that last jump! Evgenia was a joy to watch!! Satoko had a great skate! I was interested to see her live as I wanted to see how she came over being so small, etc. She really surprised me by how beautifully she skates!

^I detect no lies about those complaints.
People critique the Japanese, Americans, Canadians, and all other skaters from different nationalities all day everyday. As soon as you say anything about a Russian on this board that is not praiseworthy you become a "hater" to some people, lol. The Russian girls are great people, but they do have their issues. Can we not divulge into "hater" speak just because someone points out your favs flaws? K? Thanks...

When I don't like a skater, it's not because he/she is russian/american/canadian/japanese etc

And since when Lipnitskaya is the case study for all others? For every Lip we have 5 others who are doing just fine. Otherwsie there would simply be nobody skating right now.

Well, every year there is a new, younger skater to replace someone from previous year.....

Thanks for the report! It's great hearing from those who are able to watch live!
