Marie bowness is very strict when it comes to levels and for a team on the comeback trail like the French is not a good sign than again I'm sure she must be friends with Marie france Dubreuil they are part of ice dance royalty in Canada.

The Starting Order for tomorrow afternoon's Men's SP was posted an hour ago (about 5 minutes after I posted the Final Entry List to the Original Post of the Predictions thread! ). However, the start order for the Ladies SP (which is being held first!) has not been posted yet.

So, it's anybody's guess when the Start Orders for the Short Dance and the Pairs SP will be posted!

I think (and this is just me speculating and I might be wildly off-base) the deal with the twizzles is this: There's only so much you can do about them short term. Stabilize them as much as possible, train them a lot and hope for the best. At Nats I think nerves contributed to the mistake, so if they keep that in check it might be all right. Nikita has been living with his wonky twizzles forever, and tbh for how much speed and coverage he gets on them coupled with his control issues? He's actually made surprisingly few really glaring mistakes throughout the years. So he does probably have some coping mechanism in place to keep them going as long as they're not too off. What's also happening now is that Viktoria has become unstable on them, presumably because she has to do them with more speed and cover more ice to at least halfway keep up with him. So I hope they drilled them and they're more secure.

But the twizzle problem in general? I think they have to rebuild them from the ground up. And that's not something you can do during the season. I also don't know if it's possible or if things are so ingrained with Nikita that it will be difficult for him to correct them. I assume various coaches have tried to do something about them and they're still an issue. And the second thing is this: He gets so much speed and ice coverage on them (only the Shibs are better on that front IMO) that they will be a high risk element even if he improves on his foibles there.

He can't slower them, he physically is not capable of it. That Zhulin and his coaching team couldn't fix them is the most telling IMO. Tbh, I never thought either Morozov or Tarasova were great shakes on the technique front, so that things didn't get better with Morozov was no surprise. They only worked with Shpilband for a few weeks here and there and you can't do a total overhaul in that time. Then the question also is: Is it worth the risk? Do you try to totally take apart the twizzles and hope they come back together better? What if they don't, what if you make it worse? Or do you just try to stabilize what you have, train them a lot and hope for the best? Calculating that the risk of them going awry from time to time is preferable to the risk of totally deconstructing them with uncertain results?

Idk. I'm not sure it's unfixable, so much as that trying to fix it would come with huge risks that could backfire. And though Zoueva has gotten better on the technique front now, she and her team still wouldn't be my first choice for that kind of project...

Well, yeah. His lifts don't look very secure also, escpecially one-legged or spread-eagle positions. He's FLAILING! Oh my, I think some guys on my local rink has better stability and balance in these positions. That's telling.
But his overall skating technique is very good, arguably best on the field right now, basic skating skills too. He just tends to 'over-do' things sometimes, when he should just skate stable and clean and more cold-blooded as he can do.
