2016 Europeans Ladies Free Skate

She really shouldn't be. Maybe reconsider the choreographer for next season IMO. Her programs are so bad it's not even funny anymore

Yes, definitely. I liked her programs in 12-13 and 13-14, then suddenly BOOM CRASH and awful overload.

But anyway, has Medvedeva done something wrong? From what I've seen I've never seen her be anything but friendly and humble towards everyone.

Never saw this Angelina. Has full extension and lines like Gracie Gold in her first year out MATURE skating for a 17yo. A more intricate program and she could possibly have gotten on the podium

Well, if Elena gets better choreo next year & beats Evgenia at her own game then she can win. But the podium is fair. I'm thrilled for Angelina getting a small medal too

Angelia won't get the small medal, she was behind Anna even in the free.

Radionova is bored as hell. My god.

"Someone is not happy being in the second place". Amen.
"A lot of different body language going on there [in the K&C]" eeehhhrrrmm not really, she was in eff-u-mode pretty much from the very beginning

Sigh, Lena is the ultimate Almost Girl. Outside of juniors she's never been the #1 Russian lady, always behind some combination of Yulia, Adelina, Liza, and now Evgenia. I think mentally it may be easier to be beaten by Liza last year because Liza has more experience, but it must be tough being beaten by a younger skater, just out of juniors, whom Lena used to defeat.

I know she's not a perfect skater and I didn't like her jump landings even when she was crushing the Junior Grand Prix. But is it possible that Russia doesn't promote her enough because her coach doesn't have as much pull?

Okay, gonna put in my two cents:

This should've been Elena/Evgenia/Angelina. Cleanliness and good performance should be rewarded over harder tech marred by (tragic, in Anna's case) falls. But I respect the results-Evgenia won by virtue of Ten Trillion Tanos, and Anna landed both of her big combinations even with the falls on other stuff. Just would've preferred to have Angelina and Elena more rewarded for cleanliness and performance.

She has very good technique. Most Russian ladies could take notes.

You clearly are not understanding. The numbers don't inherently mean anything except in the context of the specific competition. Plus, Mao had calls on jump rotations, which were much costlier than falling on a double axel.

Here is a website (http://thejudgestable.weebly.com/the-judges.html) with judges opinions about the most grossly underscored performance of the last 5 years across all disciplines (women's, men's, pairs and ice dance). Mao's Sochi LP is mentioned as the most grossly underscored performance by 6 different active judges. This is double the number of any other performance or skater listed. Scores across competitions are important because they establish precedents for scores in future competitions and because PCS is supposed to be an objective means of measuring scores. Also, just because ur calls are made does not mean they are legitimate especially when obvious ones are overlooked in other competitors. This is one of the prime ways a skater can be underscored.

Elena  I've never seen her like this :drama:

guess there's first time for everything...Just imagine what World would look like - each segment would be a drama full of sassy divas not happy about the results I feel - this could actually happen :drama:

I love Evgenya but real try will be the next season for her. Congrats. For me 1 and 2 are correct, but I would agree ofer Pogo - Kuchvalska

I find this New rules fof couch after skate kind horrible. It is not easy to sit and pretend that everything is ok when it is not. I feel sorry for Elena

This. If she was required to sit there instead of being able to go cry or whatever she needed to do in private, you can't blame her for trying to get through it in some other way, like turning to her phone in order to detach from the situation. But really everything we are thinking is an assumption- she didn't say anything bad, nor really do anything bad... maybe she just wanted to talk to someone or was trying to stay awake, or was bored.

Seriously when the hell did this start

I remember seeing next to nothing of it a few years ago. We rarely saw anything and the skaters were given some level of privacy. It needs to go!

Yeah, Pogorilaya medaling with 2 falls and popped jumps caused the audience to boo and I can't blame them. It's once again the argument that to the casual viewers the wrong skater medals and they can't be blamed, the penalty for falls in particular isn't severe enough. With current rules Medvedeva deserved to win despite the fall but is that how it should be?

OT: Tomáš Verner is speaking about Carolina on the Czech television and says she's doing well, she can do triple jumps and combos but still not fully sure if she comes back, she definietly won't take part in Worlds this year.
